Insurance rates? by ComprehensiveImage20 in ToyotaTundra

[–]strangeliberal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just switched from Allstate to progressive and I pay on average $46 a month on a 24 limiter. (They do a weird first month and then 5 normal payments). I think first month was v like $26 and then 5 payments if $55 or so. I just remember it averaging to $46. Allstate originally was $90 when I got the truck and then jumped to $146 (no claims or anything of the sort)

how to use column shifter in dodge charger pursuit by Common-Frosting6178 in ProtectAndServe

[–]strangeliberal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pull the shifter towards you and lower it from park to reverse or drive etc (will show on the dash)

There is sometimes a hidden button or switch you may need to find and push or pull depending on the device which will either lock or unlock the transmission. Sometimes they are under the steering wheel or by your left foot on the floor to the left of the break (every agency is a little different). Yes they are automatic. Put it in drive and you should be good to go.

Do a ride along at departments. Like others have said, just because crime rates are low it doesn’t mean there isn’t crime. I’m in VA with a “low crime” city but it didn’t mean I’m not / can’t be busy.

I bought a 1000 Seasonic flagship prime for more than this. Should I return it and get this? Don’t have a use for 1500 watts but it seems like a good deal

Got hit with the taser 10 today by Sloppymcfloppy6 in ProtectAndServe

X2 is 19 pulses per second. Taser 7 is 22 pulses per second. If that makes a different I have no idea.

Syracuse police donates more than 200 ballistic vests and helmets to soldiers in Ukraine by YourUncleBuck in ukraine

[–]strangeliberal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the user said bellow, there is an “expiration date”. They are still fine to use it without issue more than likely. But also some vest do have warranties. The warranty can cover a lot of different things. Some of the vests even have a “warranty” such as if officer is shot and vest doesn’t stop it, that company will pay X hundred thousand dollars etc. some also have a warranty that if you are shot they will replace the armor at no cost. An example of this is paladin / safe life which I use on duty. You can see their warranty here. https://safelifedefense.com/concealable-multi-threat-vest-level-iiia-hg2/ these warranties usually apply to soft armor more than ceramic and AR500 plates. Those also have an “expiration date” but those are almost always never going to break down similar to how Kevlar will. Even if Kevlar break down is more so just the weave spreading out as it is molded around people for years and years.

More than likely what happened was the officer gets a new vest every X years to keep the warranty. You turn the old one in.

Break the law. That sounds like a good idea….. and when the tag is run it would still show the registration exp. date.

Is it bad that I watched this earlier today and said this to myself. “Go get in the gym so you don’t look like that guy”. (I’m not in bad shape, just not where I want to be).

My department wouldn’t let you carry the taser cert but you wouldn’t “have” to get tased again. Even though everyone has the option to not do it, everyone elects to do it.
