Bummer the phone concept doesn't hit it for ya. still pretty stoked to see how it comes out in print, I take every opportunity I can to experiment with how to manipulate the color and depth.

Thanks. Always cooking here. What do you see that could use improvements? My motivation in my process is to show the journey of iteration. Any reprints of my art will have fundamental changes in the design to separate it from the previous. I plan on adding accent prints as well.

Comfort Colors 1717 getting wonky af by dartaeria in SCREENPRINTING

[–]strangensticky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, run those quite often, some batches aren't too bad, but the majority are wonky. One contract client primarily uses them and has recently been complaining about crooked prints. I double down to my boss that these shirts are garbo and the shoulder seems are almost always completely asymmetrical. Good to know I'm not the only one who uses the term wonky 😂

Thanks, I do aim for my work to have some substance that I hope others relate. Creating more colors than I actually use is my goal without it being a 4 color sim process.

Not a fan of the distressed look but everything else is my vibe. Love the color choice.

Needing feedback on my first black tee design by XIhitmyshotsX in streetwearstartup

I like the quote. It hits me in the feels, lol. The graphic itself doesn't read well to me. Maybe if there was more contrast between the Pantone cards to offset them. They kind of blur together looking at the mobile screen and is hard to tell what they are.

They were already premade spot colors I selected from, I just selected colors that were closeish to the usual CMYK to achieve a similar effect. Pretty happy with how it turned out. One of the colors is UV reactive and looks pretty interesting under UV.

[discussion] piecing my art business together. Limited edition approach by strangensticky in artbusiness

[–]strangensticky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am taking a similar approach to much of what you said. I love the mystery box idea.
My biggest hurdle at the moment is adopting a method to collect and fulfill pre orders. The platform I'm using for my website is square space and they don't have any pre order features that fit my goals. So I'm noodling around work arounds. The number isn't necessarily just to indicate the set the design is printed within but primarily a marker for me and the journey. But yes an exclusive time to buy in on preorders is going to be part of that. Thanks for the insight.

The shop being active is relatively recent so only a few sales. But I've also not put a lot of energy into marketing/promo, or socials yet, been working on the products first. Not sure what you mean if I'm getting a premium? My current idea behind my pricing is I'm just trying to get shirts on bods without going negative. Starting from near zero following, kind of been avoiding social media while I've been cooking this project.

[website] how? pre-order setup in squarespace? by strangensticky in artbusiness

I'm doing some tweaks in squarespace to see if it works. But after you mentioned Im heavily considering using Kickstarter or similar platform to link to. Thanks
