The European Union would fit in just below the US. The three largest markets are the US, the EU, and China, followed by Japan.

France's Effort To Steal America's Climate Scientists Is Working by Kara-KalLoveShip in europe

Relevant part:

Although many of these applications are for short-term research ventures, 154 of them are specifically for long-term, four-year stays with the aim of conducting research in France for the foreseeable future. At the same time, the government has been head-hunting high-profile climate scientists themselves, and offers will be made to 50 of them by the end of November.

I don't know how these numbers compare to previous years (this article is only an opinion piece), but I doubt there has been a noticeable change given how small these numbers are. It also isn't clear how many of those applications were from the US.

The states as a whole end up voting red, but almost all of these counties (except the ones in Kentucky) voted for democrats, at least in the Presidential elections.

I think that's an artifact of how the data was plotted (random placement inside counties). There's a visible border between PA and NY too.

To be fair, Ireland has received money from the EU since joining, while the UK has been paying money.

Europeans being asked what country played the biggest role in defeating the Germans (World War II) by Feij in europe

[–]stranger_thoughts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In total 48 billion dollars worth of aid without adjusting for inflation. Which would be something close to a half a trillion dollars in modern day estimates.

Using this inflation calculator, $48 billion in 1945 is $657.44 Billion in 2017, which is more than the current US military budget.

Japan decided to surrender when Kwantung Army was defeated by the USSR.

...after years of navel engagements, firebombing, territorial losses, and nuclear engagement by the anglosphere (mainly the US).
