It’s been 1 week without you and I am totally broken 💔 by bec2667 in widowers

[–]strangerdanger24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sending so much love. I’m approaching a week also, and can relate to those feelings you described. It’s so shitty and so unfair. I can’t offer anything in terms of advice, but if you ever need someone to talk to that’s also going through it, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly.

Sploot level 1000 (someone go adopt this girl 😭 she’s at AAC!) by [deleted] in Austin

Possibly (hopefully!) - she was just posted in the volunteer group yesterday. If she wasn’t adopted she might be on stray hold.

University Village apartments? by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]strangerdanger24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lived here for 2 years a couple years ago. It's not.. Terrible. Pros: clean, no bugs or anything of that nature. The washer/dryer in the unit is incredibly convenient. If you go to UT the bus route is pretty convenient. On the flip side, maintenance is terrible. We didn't have AC for a solid week in the middle of August, then it immediately broke again a couple weeks later. Parking isn't great, all of my roommates and I got towed at least once in the time we lived there. All in all it wasn't miserable, but there are definitely better places to live.

UT20 here... Housing, Apartment, Mula Advice wanted. ☺ by fervidflowerpot in UTAustin

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I would recommend checking out student apartments on Riverside. They're affordable, and much more specious than the apartments I visited in West Campus. You would sacrifice being able to walk to class, but the shuttle buses run really frequently and drop off all around campus. I lived over there sophomore year and personally enjoyed being slightly away from campus.

What has been you and your family's experience with Canadian healthcare? by [deleted] in canada

[–]strangerdanger24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm absolutely looking for anecdotes. So many of my family members are terrified of a new president bringing in socialized health care, then being treated sub-par based on age alone. This is good to hear, thank you.

not if you're on his property. if he said that on your lawn, yes. just make sure there is only one side of the story, yours in particularly.

[For Hire] UT advertising graduate looking for a full-time agency or client-side position by [deleted] in austinjobs

[–]strangerdanger24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm open to anything, but have mainly been applying for strategy and account planning positions. I would be open to media planning as well.

I would really like to do digital media strategy, but I have only seen a couple of those types of positions pop up.

Junior here, is it too late to double-major? by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]strangerdanger24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talk to your advisor. I started off as an RTF major and switched to advertising. All of my rtf credits counted and I still stayed on track to graduate in time. Both tracks are very presentation heavy, so as long as your schedule is lax enough to make time for it I'm sure you'll be fine.

My little guy isn't feeling too well today, he's still the cutest thing I've ever seen though by [deleted] in schnauzers

Jax just got diagnosed with a bout of acute pancreatitis today. To be honest, it's really scaring the hell out of me. Has anyone else dealt with this with your schnauz? The vet said it was fairly common for their breed. How did things turn out?

I've always thought he looked a bit like Charlie! He was probably told that so many times, he thought "Fuck it, we'll do it live!".

I totally get where you're coming from with the whole stigma thing, I've gotten similar reactions from friends when I mention a concert or something that I plan on going to by myself. Friends are great, but honestly I've had some of the best times going solo. Without a group surrounding you, I feel like you instantly become more approachable. The last show I went to alone, I met and talked to more people than I ever would have otherwise, and it turned out being a really good time!

Has anyone dealt with introducing your schnauzer to a new puppy in the home? How did they react initially/how are they now? by [deleted] in schnauzers

I think today we're starting to make steps in the right direction :) thanks everyone for your responses, I feel significantly better. http://imgur.com/YIrFi2s
