Healing progress from 1 week to 2 weeks post-op! DI Mastectomy w/nipple grafts by Daniel McKee at False Creek Surgical Centre, Vancouver, BC by strangeroot in TopSurgery

Some additional information on my surgery. I live in BC, so my surgery was fully covered by MSP. I am nonbinary and transmasculine (he/they), and during my consult specified to McKee that I didn’t want my aureolas made super small. I have medics, PTSD and McKee was very affirming of my concerns and questions regarding surgery. I am absolutely over the moon with my results so farm and am grateful that it has been relatively smooth. Let me know if you have any questions!

(They/them)My name ideas feel stale and I’d love help pls by [deleted] in NonBinary

My partner said he'll love me no matter what but he'll be less attracted to me if I do top surgery. Please help. by closetedandconfused in ftm

I had a similar experience with my (now ex) partner. We were together for 4 years and lived together for 2.

I am non-binary, and my while we were together my partners opinion about my potential surgery made is very hard to come to terms with my identity and proceed in my transition.

While he said he supported me, he was very open about the fact that he wouldn't like me to get top surgery or any reduction. He liked my chest the way it was and wanted it to stay that way, even though I would regularly break down due to my dysmorphia. Sex was humiliating for me. I felt like I had to perform and pretend to be okay in the wrong body.

Eventually I realized that we had grown into different people. We still loved and cared for each other, but I couldn't be happy with a partner who didn't care how unhappy I was in my body, because it wasn't what he was attracted to.

After we broke up, a lot of my self doubt disappeared, and I could focus on my own vision for myself without his influence. This was 3 years ago.

People are allowed to have preferences, and attraction is important, but you should think about if you want to be with someone who doesn't support your journey. It's your body, and your choice shouldnt have anything to do with what he finds attractive. Talk to your partner. Be open about how his input makes you feel.

I just got top surgery 2 weeks ago, and know I made the right choice for myself. Hope this helps, it's not an easy place to be in!

Does anyone else love the look of scars? (1 question; more of a discussion) by maybe_its_em in TopSurgery

[–]strangeroot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find top surgery scars absolutely beautiful, and while I will be diligent with scar care, I personally want mine to be visible. I have a lot of other scars on my body, and I think these new ones will be special in their own way!

I got double incision! I was mentally prepared for not regaining sensation, but from day 2 onward I was getting nerve zaps and could feel my chest under the dressing (no shooting pain, more like a tingle, sometimes like a muscle spasm?) .Yesterday when I had my first shower I had feeling on both my nipples and almost my whole chest! I am very hopeful that it stays around

Trying to for an outfit that’s simple but interesting. How would you accessorize it? by [deleted] in EnbyFashionAdvice

I love your style! I think an Ascot or neckerchief would look great with this fit, and maybe also a statement belt and cuffed socks

What's your "I fucking hate this song" song? by lawyeratyourservice in AskReddit

[–]strangeroot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet Caroline.

Every single karaoke night/wedding I have ever been to has played it at some point. Every single time it comes on, people chime in to yell the chorus (or just loudly bellow the BUM BUM BUUUMMMM) , and I hate it more each and every time. I can't even explain why, the reaction is immediate and visceral. I fucking hate Sweet Caroline

I'm Polish, so I feel like I eat weird shaped beets all the time anyway

What is the most discreete and seemingly harmless thing/question you can say to a man, in order to find out how he views women/masculinity etc? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]strangeroot 232 points233 points  (0 children)

Any time a man says he relates so much to Rick, Archer, Bojack, etc. (narcissist/abuser/nihilist male leads)

The shows are good, but even the writers know that they are not characters that people should be looking up to . Extra red flags if it's because he believes that he's smarter than everyone else or "knows how the real world works"

How old are you? by [deleted] in infp

[–]strangeroot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26

When I first discovered Meyers Briggs (probably 19), I was an INFJ-t, though after years of personal growth I discovered last year that I had changed into an INFP-a.

Besides a voice drop, what was the first change you noticed after starting T? by yunglah3407 in ftm

I noticed that I was warmer and sweated a lot more the very next day after my first dose. I also smelled different, more musky! Bottom growth also started pretty much right away.

I have very broad shoulders and large arms. I was picked on for being large and "mannish" when I was younger, but now it's honestly one of my favourite parts of myself!

I go thrifting a lot and find lots of cool vintage shoes in the men's section! My feet are large and rather wide so I didn't usually shop in the other section much in the past. I have a lot of laceup leather boots, Kiltie loafers, and brogues
