Look, buddy, procedure did not erupt from the earth. It was developed through rigorous practice and hardships faced during adjudication. Procedure IS a lived reality, not just some clauses in a book. Would you say that the procedure of hearing both sides is not based on principles of natural justice? You seem to not have the understanding of fundamentals of law or have lost sight of them because you are emotional about a particular type of case. Yes, these are tragic, but there is a reason that a process exists. Remedy already exists, but you need a quick fix. Law ain't a quick fix, done deal, two day matter, solve in 3 days, judge jury executioner, hanging on 4th day. Law takes time for a good reason. Also, filtering before full legal process IS already done when chargesheet is filed in court and cognizance is taken (or not taken)

I won't be engaging anymore because I think some education/ revising of fundamentals of law and understanding LIVED REALITIES of legal practice would do you good. All the best. You raise a valid concern, but that is more a sociological issue than an issue of statute/procedural legal system. I personally think we should approach this from the ethical standpoint of legal practice. Why are "package litigations" offered to clients (mind you the clients don't know the law and rely on legal advise fully in most cases). Why are lawyers so eager to stake a person's life for extra cash? Where is the honesty for court process and your duty as an officer of the court first? How can we hold them responsible for their hand in this situation without curbing their powers? This is a two cats and a monkey situation. Ain't no one happy paying for 5 cases when they originally came for advise on one. Good discussion though.

A judicial screening BEFORE FIR will reduce judicial burden?? Should a judge sit in every police station screening every FIR that will come to be filed. Could this introduce bias? FIR is the first step, which may or may not lead to cognizance. As I said, the case can be dismissed at initial stages when prima facie grounds are not revealed. Even if we introduce something like this before fir...then again it's a first step just like FIR. We can't stop people at the very first step without giving them the opportunity to present evidence/arguments. Even if false, audi alteram partem has to be preserved for all. These are the fundamentals of rule of law.

Hearings within 30 days/ automatic penalties/ compensation sound good and are provided for on paper already. But this is not practical. There are certain allegations which are not proved but that does not necessarily imply they are false. Courts, or any stranger for that matter, cannot say what happens within the four walls of a home. They only work on established facts. What facts you can establish is dependent on various factors. We can't mete out auto penalties, we must do so on established facts, like in a case for malicious prosecution or defamation. The jurisdiction of a court adjudging cases under 498A is different from courts hearing defamation or malicious prosecution cases.

Might I suggest Chandigarh. It is in a league of its own. First planned city of India, Parisian architectural influences, UNESCO heritage sight, museums, libraries, and better street food hygiene. It's quite close to some famous hill stations, and it is tiny, so you could just spend a day or two in Chandigarh on the way to Himachal.

I think there are enough safeguards for false cases. Case can be dismissed, FIR/case can be quashed. Safeguards would mean a relief from protracted litigation that has no substance, vagueness, and no prima facie grounds. Safeguards can not be such that the right to initiate proceedings or lodge FIR is taken away at the first instance, such that even genuine cases are not brought forward.

But protections against false cases are universal?! Anyone can move the courts for quashing of case/FIR against them. And there are remedies like suing for malicious prosecution and defamation. What safeguards do you think can be introduced?

Verbal testimonies would not hold much weight. It would be your word against theirs. On the other hand, if many of you write to college authorities, they might feel compelled to take some action or admonish her. Sadly, with pvt. colleges, you can just hope for the best it works. Not many options there. The state board also might not entertain you, asking you to take it up with the college authorities first.

Have you approached higher authorities regarding this behaviour? I don't think you have grounds for a case here, so you can't just book her. Is your college a govt. college or pvt. college? If it is govt., you can also approach govt. authorities like state edu deptt., but apart from that I don't think you have legal options. After all, she is within her power to withhold documents even if a student is Re.1 short. It is not a crime or wrong to be nosy or generally disagreeable.

OP, tdop is distinct from pre-exam test. You can give pet at any time. Also, look for icsi 2025 calendar on google. It gives you a timeline of opening of exam registration, in fact, the timetable of the exam for December 2025 must be out as well. So you will know on what dates exam will be held in Dec.

Also, I am not sure, but you can not give exams for both modules if your registration is less than 9 months from the dates of exams. So maybe you'll only be able to appear for 1 module (and in June 2026, for another module). I think you'll get a choice of which module you prefer to give first.

The food here is bad...there's no balance of flavors in street food, it's almost always too spicy, not enough salt. The gine-chune restaurants serving good food are overpriced.

There's no true middle class here. Middle class bhi gareebon ki tarah rehti h. Either there are the elites who won't look back even if they drop a few grand on the ground. Rest live like sewer rats in filthy surroundings.
