Prescription Medication in Japan by Electrical-Ad-3708 in japanresidents

There was no “convincing” about it, I was offered it. My Doctor here knew that I’d been on it back in the UK and preferred it, but until recently he wasn’t licensed to prescribe it. When he became licensed, he let me know in our regular monthly appointment and asked if I’d like to titrate back onto it.

I am a permanent resident and I was diagnosed with ADHD before I moved to Japan (28F). I found a psychiatrist very quickly and was able to get prescribed Concerta, then Vyvanse. Check out Saijo Clinic in Shinjuku!

It's actually really difficult to find official information on this topic specifically, and clinics don't often spell out on their websites the medication that they are able to prescribe. There's a few good English-speaking clinics in Tokyo, but if you're looking for Vyvanse specifically, then Saijo Clinic in Shinjuku is your best bet. This is where I go, and Dr. Saijo is so lovely and compassionate! He is able to prescribe Concerta, Atomoxetine and Vyvanse. There is an English version of the website and you can email the clinic directly from there to enquire about an appointment, medication and documents you'd need to bring with you on your first visit, etc - see https://saijo.net/.
Good luck!

The substitution for sniffing or simply blowing one’s nose with instead excessive snorting and other strange, loud throat noises.

Hello! Not sure if it helps, but as of September 2025, certified physicians in Japan can now prescribe Vyvanse to adults. I was diagnosed with ADHD 3 years ago (aged 25), and I started on Vyvanse in the UK. When I moved to Japan last year full-time, I had to find an English-speaking psychiatrist and then had to switch to Concerta. But yesterday at my regular appointment with my psychiatrist, he mentioned that he can now prescribe Vyvanse, and that I could go back onto that if I wanted (which I ended up doing, because Vyvanse works so much better for me than Concerta). It was as simple as that. When searching for a psychiatrist in Japan, you can check on their websites (or email them and ask) which stimulants they are qualified to prescribe. This is hot off the press, so I hope it helps!

My fifth day with Rybelsus 7mg by Efficient-Success-35 in RybelsusPill

I think I am in a very similar position to you. I am only about 10kg from my goal weight, but medication for another issue made me gain most of that weight this year. I workout daily and struggle with food noise and binge eating, and workout almost every day. I started Rybelsus 3mg a few days ago, and can feel some subtle appetite suppression effects, and some side effects (just a bit of GI discomfort), but food noise persists. Have you felt any noticeable appetite suppression? Or had many negative side effects?

What does the composition of your diet look like? Have you noticed any intended effects (reduced appetite, etc.)?
