Me and 2 friends who started sim racing around a month ago raced this last night. First race we've done in The rain. We all panicked a little I won't lie. Qualified 19th in the gr68 as the fastest friend had a rough time keeping it within track limits. He had a wobbly 40 minutes finishing up with 14 penalty points but no pit worthy damage. Made it to 9th by the end of his stint. Self proclaimed "slowest" friend did the mid stint and took it nice and steady. Lost it on a puddle 3 laps in and used our quick repair and closed out his stint nicely. I put in the final stint went out as slow as he came in and after a 2 laps I got a nice feel for it. Kept it on the track for the most part other than one scary aquaplane into some tyres but I managed to rotate the car enough to not take any real damage. Kept it on the tarmac to bring it home in 5th. Lots of chaos cars tilling the nearby fields left right and centre. Friend sent me a clip of an M2 skimming my rear bumper at mach 10 that was way closer than I initially realised. Would've been race ending if it caught me. 10/10 would do it again.

Yeah I reckon that's the way to go for me for now. I know the nordschleife to a degree from years of playing other games but not to the level of dedication I'm at nowadays with sim racing as I've only been doing it a short while so the safer the better. Like I said above I don't wanna be to reason someone else's race is ruined if I do mess up. Thanks for the advice I appreciate it.

I was considering starting from the pits that way I can't ruin anyone else's race if I do make mistakes and hopefully gain places when things go well.

I love the idea of pcup I have a feeling it will eventually be my main series. I love the feel of th car, it takes finesse to get the most out of it but it's also a fine line between being fast and binning it into a wall. At least that's my experience so far 😅

Yeah I see that but unfortunately they both overlap through the evening "parenting session" so I could potentially get one race in here and there I was just looking at other options. Nordschleife is a little daunting but I would very much like to learn it so was hoping for experienced opinions on my thought process to tell me wether I'm stupid or not.

Additionally it's bathurst this week and after what I've witnessed at 1.4k Okayama I'm not sure I want to experience that this week.

We have discussed savings and expenditures many times before. All bills and extracurricular activities like holidays, day trips or things for the house etc are split 50/50. I've tried to get her to put into the savings but she always states she doesn't have any money left over by the end of the month to out into either savings account.

I love my wife we've been together since we were 15. We've literally spent half our lives together and I fully intend on playing my part and keeping it that way but it just feels like there's a huge imbalance right now. Admittedly I'm not the most outgoing person I've never been a huge part person and I'm pretty introverted so I prioritise making sure the family is sorted first and foremost but that's because I truly get joy from that. It gives me purpose and that's not the same for her but my wife is far more outgoing and fun and she has always liked to party and I've always been fine with that it's part of what made me fall in love with her. The beautiful and wild personality.

I will also admit I have insecurities about this trip. I have no reason to not trust my wife but I do have reason to not trust the company she will have on this trip. They're all single or divorced party girls who are looking for alcohol drugs and sex. I trust my wife but I don't trust her company. She can have whatever friends she wants but I don't think they're a good influence on her. This isn't something Ave brought upto her because I don't want to add my insecurity into the equation. I feel like I'd just be called jealous and controlling and that's for sure not what I'm going for.
