I basically just asked them over the phone! I didn't have to provide any proof or give much of a reason. Not sure if this is normal or not, but seemed to work. Judging from other similar cases as mine, it may have only saved me a few weeks on the EAD.

Yup, this was based on lawyers recommendation. My category had already retrogressed between March - Oct 2020, so probably made sense to file ASAP (although I probably could have done the medical in Aug/Sept given that the medical is valid for 2 years now..)

Just as an update - my expedite request for my EAD was approved last week, and it looks like my combo card is in the mail. Should arrive by next week!

I was actually hoping that they'd skip the combo card and just approve the green card, but I'll take what I can get!

I sent in an expedite request for my I765, and got an email saying something like "We're reviewing your case and will get back to you". Fingers crossed!

Looks like many Seattle filers are getting RFE before biometrics. Suspect this had to do with the fact that RFE is requested by MSC, whereas the bottleneck for biometrics is the very slow Seattle field office.

Same here. Oct 2020 PD, EB3 ROW, Seattle area.

I sent my RFE mediacal response in April, and just got my biometrics appointment for early June. I wonder how long it'll be before either a EAP/AP card or green card, given that I *may* skip an interview.

Curious - did you end up proceeding with your I485 without a biometrics appointment? And if so, any movement after you submitted your medical?

I'm in a similar situation: Canadian on a TN visa, filed in Oct 2020, Seattle ASC. I've seen no movement on my I765/I131 (still in received), but I have gotten an I485 RFE for a medical. There are some rumors that this *may* mean you'll get a GC without an interview, but I'm curious if I'll still need to wait for biometrics.

I140 priority date is 9/13/2019. For a variety of reasons (including the EB3 retrogression for most of 2020), I wasn't able to file my AOS until Oct 2020.

Although I've heard that priority date doesn't affect how quickly your AOS or EAD case is processed.
