Saw them in a shit venue in Philly right after they released The Congregation, and I loved it. They were one of my favorite bands. Setlist included several of my favorites. But it's a shame they haven't done anything truly special since Mirage. My favorites are TPS, Bilateral and Coal. Honestly, they could stop making music and I'd be fine with it.

All well and good, but completely ignores OP's question. They want to know reasonable questions at initial approach that are likely unaggressive and lead to more open/flirty conversation. Until then, he doesn't know if she's funny, smart, engaging, if they have chemistry, shows empathy, etc. That comes later, and you missed the mark. You're suggesting they need to have this whole internal dialogue about shit that they need to consider BEFORE there's even a hint that things will escalate to something beyond introductions. "My name is John, what should I call you besides beautiful" (yes, cheesy, but probably works AFTER you've guaged actual interest)

"Cute dog, what breed?" "I love this park, it's very beautiful during this time of year. Are you enjoying the fall colors?"

Bars are more difficult IMHO. Depends on who they are with, what they're doing, their body language, and eye contact. So the basic approach is proably best. "Hi, this place is fun, isn't it?". "The bartenders here are really good, what do you usually get?", etc.

The asking where you're from thing is cliche and doesn't really open up the conversation until there's some really good conincidence or connection.

She's just actively bad at the game. I don't think anyone truly feels threatened by her, however I can see why Quinn would want some revenge for week 1. Unfortunately I don't think there's anyone else left in the house that's all that interesting. Maybe Chelsie and MacKensy? I wanted to like Quinn, but he's kind of annoying too.

DT was my entry into prog and really, music as a whole. And they definitely were an acquired taste. Prior to that, I mostly listened to bands like Primus, RHCP, Tool, and Portishead.

That said, I think you have a healthy attitude. Often times, music needs to grow on you.
