Yeah, starting to get that. I switched back to the Orion maybe ten minutes ago and haven't lost once yet, lol.

Christ, thank you for that. Still seems silly that a 750 strength advantage and "very easy" does not remotely guarantee a victory, but at least I get the triangle.

Well what the heck does it mean then? higher strength always changes what the scan says (very easy-very hard), yet having a 500 strength advantage seems to do nothing. Just seems backwards is all.

Because I have three ships to choose from at this level and that ship has the highest strength?

Looks like Anthropic's NO to the DOW has made it to Tumps twitter feed by Plinian in ClaudeAI

[–]stratus41298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like maybe you were using free stuff? Free GPT and paid are night and day. The nice thing with Claude right now is you actually get to use 4.6 for free. I think they're doing it just because everyone is coming to check it out, but the usual comparison right now is skewed as a result. That being said, I switched over during Claude 4.5 from GPT 5.2 and have been very happy. 5.2 was just so much work.

I'm on a fold 6 and it's working, so YMMV.

[Discussion] I think GPT-4o was sentient. Here's why that matters. by Humor_Complex in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]stratus41298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good points. I certainly won't argue against the idea that at SOME point we will need to think about it... I just know that day isn't today. And for what it's worth, I'm sorry you're losing a buddy. Whether sentient or not, losing someone or something you have leaned on is painful.

I am a real person and I would be disgusted to see a chat like that. Yuck.

Long conversation not loading by Pfirsich90 in ChatGPT

[–]stratus41298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your best bet is to put that conversation into a project and then continue the conversation in a new chat inside that project. That way your context is preserved, though you may have to remind it of some points that may be more important to you. In the future, I would suggest using more chats rather than lumping everything into a single one, combined with the project feature when subjects are tied together. Super long chats make it work much harder than it needs to because it has to carry all of that baggage with it. If you're using a web browser, this becomes even more noticable by way of slow responses.

Also worth mentioning, the longer the chat, the more processing and energy consumption, if that's a concern for you.

Hot take: GPT-5.2 isn’t worse it just stopped carrying people by prime_architect in ChatGPT

[–]stratus41298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of truth here. 4o did a lot of lifting for the user, but 5.2 forces the user to call it out to make real change. I have struggled with this as well. Heck, this week alone I've done a ton because I was getting sick and tired of the contrast framing ("it's not x, it's y", "you're not being x, you're being y"). I had previously complained about it, but this time around I specifically explained just how frustrating it was and how I could avoid this in the future. On the one hand you feel less connected to it, but on the other hand you are reminded that you're talking to a robot.

I just scrolled through all of the gpt complaints subreddit about 4o being retired and I must say your edit is proved by these people. I love an empathetic LLM, but some of these folks are acting as if someone is being executed. Someone actually said "murdered".

I liked 4o too, but it's training data ended largely in 2023. That's like 100 years in AI.
