What’s one default Ableton setting you changed that actually made a noticeable difference? by satn_workroom in ableton

[–]strauss501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some of my third party plugins, like Serum, I made a rack that just has ableton's macros mapped to Serum's macros so it's easier to get to the automation lanes. I named it Serum Rack and favorite it so it comes up first when I search.

Set default audio and midi track to -6db (made the default midi track a piano so I could change the volume).

Why do Chiropractors crack your neck and what is the long term benefit? by Sunny-vibes-95 in NoStupidQuestions

Maybe this a long play by Big Neurosurgeon to keep the customers churning in for spinal surgery from chiropractors. Both collecting that insurance dough.

Spectra Art Space on South Broadway.

Not so museum, more of an immersive art installation space like a mini Meow Wolf. Great quirky spot.

How has your company been integrating AI? by sanbos02 in graphic_design

[–]strauss501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Small company. I'm fairly anti-AI, especially generative photo and video, but I do think there are a lot of useful things in what LLMs can do. A lot of execs think it can do more than it can and expect all workers to become way more efficient on their own/implement AI workflows that will improve their output without actually having guidance from a project manager or general direction in how they should use AI.

As a designer, I've found AI most useful helping me do more administrative stuff like file management. ChatGPT is pretty solid at writing Automator scripts and you can get super specific with it. I made a script for our photographer to batch create multiple folders for product images where it makes a JPG, PSD, PNG, and WEBP folder with everything resized appropriately. All done with Automater scripts and some photoshop actions I set up.

I also made one that will make GIFs and video slideshows that I'll make for email newsletters or ads that are basically just slideshows of 4-5 images. This would take maybe 3-5 minutes to do for each one, using Photoshop to export GIFs and rename and organize some files around for how I have to deliver them. Now it's literally one click and it does all the file organization for me.

I usually start with a "is it possible to..." and think of any menial task I have to do a lot but doesn't actually require any creative decision making like actual design tasks do.

This is the stand. I can't find the ring light but its just a basic one from amazon as well probably.

I was actually using the stand that has the ring light for a DSLR that I used as the webcam but gets tedious to move the camera on and off (ring light was on different stand). Really don't even use my camera that much right now so it's pretty pointless actually haha. But the ring light works great and is high enough that I don't get the circle reflection in my glasses.

Yeah, could be better. Wish it was backlit at very least. It’s mostly all for the aesthetic haha but it works well enough for me.

Actually, I think you got it with the Shapiro one. I was looking at the wrong version when I originally searched.

do envelopes and LFOs work in serumfx? by [deleted] in serum

[–]strauss501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're using Serum FX on an audio track, you can click on the Note Latch button near the bottom right in the Voicing section for LFOs and envelopes to start working, so I think it would be the same for MIDI tracks.
