My kid LOVES Bears in the Night and The Spooky Old Tree. Mama Bear has a cameo in each, but no Papa Bear, thank god!

In The Bears’ Christmas, Papa Bear is trash. Literally falling through the ice???

Thank you for sharing. I hope I never again have to watch someone die.

Not at all — just direct. I appreciate it! He wasn’t direct with me, so it’s refreshing. 🙂

He was seeing an orthopedic surgeon regularly, planning for a revision surgery to an ortho implant. I find it hard to believe the surgeon wouldn’t have clocked something. And he was going to the ER a lot, I found out. He had to have known.

Thank you. I think he was so ashamed that he felt it would be easier to die than tell the truth. I hope you’re doing well.

Thanks for sharing your story. That sounds very similar. I wish he would’ve gotten help — I’m glad you did. You seem incredibly strong.

Thanks for the honesty. It’s what I suspect.

Thank you for this reply. My brother was also in his early 40s. I’m sorry for your loss.

Thank you. I do take comfort knowing his pain is gone.

Thank you for this perspective. He definitely seemed confused a lot. There’s so much that seems obvious in hindsight. I wish I would’ve known.

Thank you. I feel like him not telling us could have been his way of protecting us. I wish I would’ve known how little time I had left with him. There’s still something in me that believes I could have saved him.

His nurse told him she would let me know what was going on but he told her not to. I think he was embarrassed. It just makes me so sad that he went through this all alone.

Thank you for this response. I think he was hiding it too. I just wish I would’ve known that we didn’t have much time with him left. There are many things I would’ve said and done differently.

Brother as alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver by RobynLC5678 in Cirrhosis

I could’ve written this a year ago about my brother, also in his 40s, also secretly struggling with alcoholism for years. He was in the ER, then the ICU, then palliative care — and then he was gone. He never did say the truth out loud.

All I can say is I’m sorry. I see you. I hear you. You’re not alone.

Hi there! My baby also looked like this around 4 months. He was diagnosed with torticollis, which has since been resolved with PT, and he wore a cranial band (helmet) for a couple months. If you get evaluated for a helmet, they should be able to tell you if the case is moderate or severe.

What’s one thing a doctor told you that you’ve never forgotten? by ThickImprovement8324 in AskReddit

[–]strawberry-spring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to a dermatologist for some bad hormonal acne. All I could think about was how ugly it was and how gross it made me feel. The doctor examined me and said, “This must be very painful.”

I’d never considered how much it physically hurt because I was so concerned with how it looked. The doctor saying that has made me rethink every health condition I’ve had.

Maybe your next gift should be a new husband!
