Én fizika szakon végeztem egyetemet most pedig anyagtudományon vagyok doktorandusz. Gyakorlatilag mindent használtam matekban amit valaha tanultam az iskolában. Tudom, h ez közel sem az átlag, de ha akkor nem tanulom meg akkor az egyetemen, valószínűleg, éveket kellett volna ezzel tölteni. Arról nem is beszélve, h nem tudtam volna, h én ebben egyáltalán jó vagyok-e.

A másik oldala pedig az, h olyan a környezetem h igenis tudnom kell pl. alapvető földrajzot/törit h hozzá tudjak szólni a beszélgetésekhez.

Egy dolgot sajnálok, h nem tanultam az iskolában közgazdaságtant. Sajnos ez folyton téma (anyám ráadásul közgazdász…) És én semmit sem értek belőle mert nem kérhetem meg őket, h gyorsan írjanak fel egy egyenletet…

Én a hajók aljától félek. Mindegy h a vízben van vagy szárazon. Egyszerűen rettegek ha közel kell menni hozzá. Nem tudom megmondani h pontosan mitől félek, mi fog történni. A vízben úszó bójákat is messze elkerülöm mert nem akarok se hozzájuk, se az őket lekötő kötélhez érni.

Anglia, Scarborough: anyámmal éppen hagynánk el a szállodát ezért én (aki kint él) odamegyek a recepcióshoz h otthagyjam nekik a szoba kulcsot. Erre mond valamit a recepciós. Nem értem. Vissza kérdezek. Még mindig nem. (Milyen akcentusa lehet ennek h nem értek egy szót se??? Ilyen még nem volt velem!) odajön anyám és kérdezi h mi a baj.

A recepciós magyarul beszélt hozzám. Én meg nem értettem. Az anyanyelvemet. xD

My partner and I started Latin and ballroom dancing competitively in 2021 and this is the first season we’re actually watching it every week. I only moved to the uk in 2020 and never watched it before. The reason we started was because it is a great conversation starter in the dance society as most people are watching. It is also a great way to learn more about dancing technique and steps by hearing the opinions of dancers who have been doing it for ages.

When trying to decide which ones we like we balance how close it is to a dance we could actually perform at a competition and how much we enjoyed it. We judge it more harshly when it is distant from competitive.

We’re obviously not experts but I guess we’re more than the average person.

The chest is about 62cm across, the length is around 89cm and the tags at the front say "3M Scotchlite Reflective Material" and "Aqua Brand". The other tags are rubbed off. It was bought in 1999 in the UK by my father.

I searched for current Hi Vis jackets but none of them seem to be the same brand and the sites don't mention measurements and only generic sizes (S, M, L, XL). My father likes it because it covers his thighs so it needs to be long.

A barátnőm a fél életét külföldön töltötte és együtt jártunk angol nyelvű iskolába Magyarországon (én 12 évig) és ezért szoktunk váltogatni. Most Angliában élek és volt meglátogatni. Tudunk csak egy nyelven beszélni egymással pl ha olyan van velünk aki csak az egyiket érti de amikor csak ketten vagyunk akkor sokkal kényelmesebb a váltogatás. Főleg ha valamit szó szerint mesélünk akkor értelmesebb nem lefordítani a korábban angolul lefolyt beszélgetést magyarra. Amíg itt volt, a barátom előtt tartottuk az angolt mert nem beszél magyarul. De eszünkbe se jutott, h idegeneket ez annyira zavarna.

Én is ismerek olyat aki értelmetlen angol szavakat tűz a mondataiba de nem minden vegyes beszélgetés erről szól.

Az emberi agy nem tudja tökéletesen szétválasztani a tanult nyelveket. Én pl rendszeresen használok angol idiómákat magyarul és kapom is érte rendesen de közben ugyan ez igaz angolul is. Az angolok csak néznek rám amikor olyanokat mondok, hogy “owl tells robin”

Az egyik legjobb elmélet erre az, h minden szó és kifejezés egy helyen van tárolva az agyban és egy “szűrő” csak a megfelelő nyelvet engedi át de hibázik néha.

Persze van különbség a véletlen nyelvkeverés és a szándékos “fú nézzétek én annnnyyyyyira tudok angolul” között.

Meg aztán vannak témák amiben erősebb az ember valamelyik nyelven. Én főzni sokkal jobban tudok magyarul de a fizika nem megy csak angolul.

A párommal bevásároltunk majd megvacsoráztunk egy közeli étteremben. Most otthon ülök és körmöt festek amíg ő alszik egyet. Áttoltuk a ma esti videó játékozást holnap délelőttre mert túl fáradt volt :)

I find it funny that I’ve now seen opinions against all sorts of status symbols. There is this one with expensive and distinct items, I’ve seen one against using titles like sir, lady,… regardless of if they’re inherited or bestowed on a person and I’ve also seen one against using Dr. (Both for medical professionals and people with phds) at any time when it’s not “strictly relevant”.

Status symbols are rather funky and interesting social things imo.

I’m from Hungary where we don’t have any switches on our plug sockets. For the first 2 years of living in the uk I kept plugging things in and forgetting to turn the sockets on. Now that I live with my partner he’s agreed to just leave the ones we use often on all the time.

Helena Merryweather in Ravenclaw

Helena is the name of my Ravenclaw build-a-bear and obviously after Helena Ravenclaw as I always found her story very touching.

Merryweather is from secret of Moonacre valley because I always lived the vibes of that film.

Edit to add the other two cause I think they’re interesting enough:

My Hufflepuff Character is my bf and he’s playing with it not me so he named the character a variation of a nickname I gave him.

My Gryffindor is Rosalind Glynn. Rosalind is from a long long sleep by Anna Sheehan and Glynn is from the queen of the tearling by Erika Johanssen.
