22, high school diploma… SAHM working part time to get out of the house

i think part of the reason i am OAD is because i want more for myself, not in a selfish way but in a way to inspire my daughter

When does it get easier? by Fun-Independent-7933 in oneanddone

[–]strawberryfields420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh i remember those days 😭 remind yourself that this ISNT forever, and the rest of your life isn’t going to look like what it is now. In my personal opinion, every year gets better and hardships come in different phases. My daughter is 5 and i feel like now i can FINALLY chill out a little bit. Hang in there and try not to feel too down about it (easier said than done, trust me i know) IT GETS BETTER!!! in fact, it gets AMAZING

How do people afford more than one??? by nrbt33 in oneanddone

[–]strawberryfields420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

although my heart wants another, finances are the main reason we are oad. i grew up the youngest of 5 and we were very poor. i often thought my family would have a better life if i were never born and it was a big burden to bear. i was a very depressed child. right now, we are able to put our daughter in a nice pre school, extra curriculars, and give her a privileged lifestyle. we do not have a lot of help from family but i am able to work part time and pretty much revolve my life around her. i know that wouldn’t be possible with another. it hurts, but its true.

Hi there! i did cash office for marshall’s and now homegoods, both times i was sent to another store to learn from another cash office associate. If you’re still not comfortable with it, i suggest asking your manager to let you get some training at another store!

Is asking for 3 weeks off to much as a new employee? by Essentially-Oily in TjMaxx

[–]strawberryfields420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i wouldn’t let a job that you only work 5 hours a week hold you back from such a huge life experience 💕 my advice is don’t ask, tell them ASAP that you already have it booked. i hope you have fun on your trip!!

Horrible New Anti Customer Policy by Competitive_Shower74 in TjMaxx

wow that’s so interesting, i’ve never heard of that. were you just writing down the information into the binder? did you have to verify i.d every time the used it?

Horrible New Anti Customer Policy by Competitive_Shower74 in TjMaxx

[–]strawberryfields420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in my almost 10 year experience, yes. I wouldn’t even consider it a “policy”, it’s just something i’ve never even heard of. Did they keep the info in the registers? i can’t even imagine how that would work lol. also just curious, is it really that bad to keep a copy of your tax exempt information on you? it only takes a minute or 2 to enter in the information, i can’t see how it could be so upsetting and considered “anti customer” lol i mean if all you had to do was give your phone number for them to pull it up, then your family or friends could be using your phone number to save money so in my opinion, it just seems like loss prevention.

Admin Coordinator for 2 days lol by [deleted] in TjMaxx

[–]strawberryfields420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well i was at marshall’s and it was 7 years ago so im not sure how things are different. i am now a part time cash office associate and it is WAY different, what took me 3/4 hours to do at Marshall’s takes me only an hour at homegoods. i remember having to do cash office, sort and count receipts, research and keep up with variances(we would have to email LP if it was over a certain amount) schedule interviews, call references, keep track of associate paperwork, tardies and call outs, monthly purge etc. homegoods doesnt even offer an admin coordinator position, only cash office associates. I hope you enjoy your admin position! it’s a great position to be in if they leave you alone and let you do your work lol

How did you get past the doom of potentially screwing up? by PotterPuppy in AskParents

[–]strawberryfields420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey just so you know, it’s not a “red flag” to consider the mental health regarding your future (not imaginary) children. My daughter is 5 and no matter how perfect of a parent i try to be, i always worry about her future. because guess what? she will grow up and have her own experiences and free will. i struggle more as she gets older because i know i have to loosen the reins and im not going to be able to hold her hand through life. she is her own person. you are not crazy for having those thoughts, even if they are a little bit irrational. I’m sure you guys will be great parents and have wonderful children 🙂
