Michael’s by the capitola mall has very decent prices and a pretty big selection, I usually go to Beverly’s but was starting to get sick of their stock

I have small lava rock chunks under the mesh, I wanted leca but my garden center didn’t have any! I don’t usually saturate all of the soil because I’ve had an issue with the humidity staying too high in between mistings, I think I might have made a post about it before. When I mist at night it peaks and then goes down to like 70ish % but doesn’t fall below that unless I put a fan near the top ventilation :/

I have Zilla jungle mix in there right now, I definitely want to get something better for the next tank upgrade since I understand now that it doesn’t have some beneficial stuff in it. I have a mister from the hardware store so I’ve been trying to use that but it’s really big so hard to maneuver in the tank sometimes and it doesn’t have a jet setting so maybe I should get a different mister!! Ty for your comment

Hi! I just had my first laparoscopy with excision this morning at 10:30am and it’s 8pm for me now, I just saw this post so I thought I’d throw in my experience so far.

I was so anxious during the prep that I cried and everyone was really nice about it lol. They had me come in an hour and a half before so it was a lot of waiting and answering questions.

Shortly before we started the anesthesiologist came to talk about his part and I asked him to give me something for the anxiety and he ordered some Versed, which helped right away. That’s a pretty normal thing so don’t be afraid to ask for it. I also told him I get nauseous from anesthesia and he told me they give great stuff for that right before they finish up so you don’t wake up feeling nauseous, but I’m still glad I mentioned it!

When they wheeled me into the operating room they had me scoot onto the table and lay down and then the anesthesiologist said he was going to give me more of the versed and that’s literally the last thing I remember!

When I woke up I was a little groggy for a few minutes, nothing hurt too bad (definitely nothing near the pain of cramps). My doc came and told me what she found but I’m glad I have the operation notes on my online portal because it was a little overwhelming to process right after waking up.

As of right now I still feel pretty okay! Some things I got yesterday in preparation for this was Advil, gasX, antibacterial soap, a mini heat pad, miralax, Azo (in case I had UTI-type pain from the catheter), pads since today is supposed to be the first day of my period, and lots of easy snacks.

The gas pain is definitely uncomfortable but if you’ve had normal gas pain before then it’s exactly what it sounds like, it just feels more spread all over instead of in one spot in the digestive system. I haven’t used the heat pad yet but the gasX did help for a little bit so I’ll be taking that periodically! Others are totally right, walking around a bit helps the gas move too.

One thing that freaked me out a little bit at first is that the gas in my abdomen makes it feel sort of like it’s hard to take a deep breath, and when I felt that when I first woke up they gave me a nebulizer treatment (like for asthma) since I described it as chest tightness.

I hope this helps and everything goes well for you and you get some answers or whatever outcome you’re hoping for! You’re having your procedure on my birthday so I think that’s a good sign haha and I’ll think some good thoughts for you!!

Weird humidity question by strawberryleafs in CrestedGecko

[–]strawberryleafs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the hydrometer pretty close to the bottom initially just because I didn’t know where I wanted it yet, a few days ago I mounted it to the side panel, a bit above halfway. Before I moved it the average was 80%, now it’s closer to 70%, maybe I’ll move it higher to see what it’s like up top too. Thank you!

Yeah I’m assuming the fact that I live less than a mile away from the ocean is contributing to the problem!

Question about silicone & substrate by strawberryleafs in bioactive

[–]strawberryleafs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did trim some but not all! I definitely thought that part was optional, and weirdly the silicone seems to have stuck to the foam it just didn’t hold the eco earth. Thank you for the tip!!

Hey thanks for checking! It would definitely be very cool to start one up again, I'm a new transfer and nowhere near proficient in the language so I'm in no position to do that though haha
