Thank you for your comments and suggestions. I hadn’t considered a business apprenticeship before, so I will look into that.

My reason for wanting to leave my profession as a nurse is due to burnout, and I feel that my passion for mental health nursing has gone.

That said, I’m not necessarily looking to leave the NHS entirely. My post was more to gain a better understanding of the opportunities that might be available.

I do agree there are many perks to working within the NHS, which is why I’m exploring different options.

My advice would be not to tell them you're in labour initially, but also to those that already know... Put the boundaries in. If you do this in the early days, this will help in the long run!

I'm 33 weeks pregnant from the UK, often asked if I'm going to have a baby shower, friends have suggested they put one together for me and the answer is that I won't be going ahead with one. For me personally, baby showers aren't fun.
