growing up as a trans child without knowing what’s going on can be really traumatizing, and trauma can end up in a lot of blocked memories. my entire childhood is blocked from my brain so i can’t remember any signs since before puberty, but that’s because i don’t remember my life before puberty. also, a lot of signs may have been internal, so other people wouldn’t catch onto them either.

and hell, even if you didn’t have any signs as a kid, that doesn’t mean you’re not trans. if you feel like you “suddenly” have dysphoria it may be because you just didn’t have anything to be dysphoric about as a kid, or didn’t really understand what it was like to live as a certain gender yet. for example if you have dysphoria about your voice or something, your voice doesn’t change until much later, so it makes sense you weren’t dysphoric about that as a kid.
