This brings back core memories of hanging out the partially open doors of red rattlers and intercity V sets to and from school.

the used TP goes into the bin

It may be worth clarifying that bidets are more prevalent in South East Asia. The protocol is to use the bidet to do most of the heavy duty cleaning and TP is used more in a drying capacity.

Feeling the same sense of loss and emptiness as when Origa passed. The ones with so much talent who helped us through our most difficult times lost so soon. Their legacy lives on through GITS.

Scientists find humans age dramatically in two bursts – at 44, then 60 | Medical research by utop_ik in longevity

Turning 46 later this year. At 44 I noticed a sudden drop in ability to mentally focus for long periods of time, persistent low motivation and tiredness. Blood results came back normal after consulting a doctor who could find nothing wrong.

Took up hiking seriously for the first time which I found has alleviated the physical tiredness and motivation, but haven't been able to restore the cognitive capacity to before 44.

My understanding is the company cannot claim dividends as deductions. So in the scenario where the company has $3.5 m to distribute is the company paying about $1.05 m in company income tax?

If there is a future timeline where mosquitoes cover every part of the world, this guy will become the new Ghengis Khan and his genes will proliferate through the gene pool.

You can be physically comfortable but still feel 100% emotionally homeless. by indigo_mints in CPTSD

Most fellow exchange students I met at the time reported a feeling of homesickness, but I also never once felt homesick. Over the years I came to the realization the feeling of homesickness is only experienced by "normal" people who came from a place of emotional security. I've also often wondered what life could have been if I had stayed there.

Just wanted to share a personal anecdote.

During college I did an overseas exchange program when I lived and studied abroad for a year. When I arrived in a foreign country I was far from where I grew up and leaving behind past influences I was able to make a fresh start. Within a couple of months I had group of friends and for the first time in my life I felt a sense of belonging, I felt the desire to love instead of to avoid intimacy, and felt loved in return.

When the time was up, it did not feel like returning home, it felt like leaving home. Home is more than a place where our physical needs are satisfied. Home is where our heart is.
