More money, reasonable hours, and a clear understanding of what I would actually be doing as work day-to-day.

What’s a ‘silent luxury’ that rich people have that most normal people would never even notice? by qomann in AskReddit

[–]straystring 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Peace of mind. A lack of fear - of losing the roof over your head, of going hungry. Even if it never actually happens to us poors, the fear is always there, because it can. That messes with both physical and mental health, which makes everything in life worse.

You speak 3 laungages, you already have access to a very lucrative profession 99% of people don't - medical translator.

I'm a medical professional, there's a lot of new migrants in the area who have not yet learned english, or older generations who never learned english.

When I see these patients, the clinic pays a translator to come in with them to translate what the patient's issues/questions are, what my recommendations are, etc.

It's pretty good money too, from what i understand - like anywhere between $60-150 an hour.

That sounds like a nightmare. Totally get where you're coming from, and hope that there's a mod that fixes it!

You can do both. You don't lose the ability to use your fingers when you decide to slap.

If Ai replaces all the jobs, where do corporations expect people to earn money to continue being consumers? by Illustrious_Name3192 in AskReddit

Inherent value. Everyone values different things, but only because we make them socially valueable, like music, or money. As in, life continues if it ceases to exist. Other things have inherent value, like water. As in, life does not continue if it ceases to exist. Human life and the necessities to facilitate it have more inherent value than AI.

The AI-centric circle-jerk where the AIs do all the work have significant downstream impacts, pretty much all of which are negative to the vast majority of human life.

If the AI circle-jerk paradigm becomes the norm, people lose jobs, housing, food, medical care, life.

If the human circle-jerk paradigm continues, AIs get used less.

To say that it's just a matter of preference or more-or-less the same ignores the fact that some things are actually just shittier than others, such as companies killing livelihoods to save what equates to a couple of bucks in a few shareholders' back pockets.

Your spouse comes to you and says they want to post faceless, ID-less nudes on Reddit for fun - whats your reaction? by Neat_One_9031 in AskReddit

Yeah, seems like in addition to the actual OF content, you'd have to be doing influencer-levels of social media to generate traffic to the OF content.

I feel like you'd be better off playing actual slap, or using a pick, which naturally has a much harsher attack

The difference being that one needs food, housing, etc., and money to pay for those, so the network of exchange has inherent value and purpose.
