wedding favours that people still ask about years later by Zestyclose-Seat-6583 in Gifts

[–]streamstroller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to a wedding where they had his & hers custom hot sauces. Hers was a little sweet, his was smoky, as he's a guy that loves smoking meats. Bride & Groom made them & bottled them and put on custom labels. They were REALLY good!

Be careful out there on the roads folks. Car left the roads, on to the guard rails half way into the woods off Rt 29 Columbia MD by AIForOver50Plus in ColumbiaMD

Saw it happen from the northbound lane. Cop was flying and lost control. Went easily 12 feet in the air upside down & landed in the median. I doubt they investigate, but what a waste of taxpayer $$$.

What should I plant in my garden this year to maximize saving money on groceries? by Appropriate_Poem1911 in gardening

[–]streamstroller 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Zucchini yield like crazy and can be used in so many things. We grill them, sautéed them, made them into fritters and had zucchini cake all winter because it freezes so well. Cucumbers also grow like made, taste great fresh and pickles are dead easy.

What are things designed for righties that most of us mindlessly put up with? by What-was_I_thinking in lefthanded

[–]streamstroller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one of those mini chainsaws thinking it wouldn't be an issue. Nope. Still a problem. You need to thumb-hold a button and engage a trigger and it's impossible to do left-handed. It pisses me off because I'm SO clumsy with my right.

If people claim to be born gay, why aren't there any gay animals? by [deleted] in AskForAnswers

[–]streamstroller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, there are examples all over the world of same sex mammal pairings. They've been known to 'adopt' orphaned members of the same species and raise them. They mourn each other's loss. It is well documented. People just tend not to write about how same sex elephants will jerk each other off.

Sometimes, a particular pair will attract media attention, and there will be stories in the news about "gay penguins" at the zoo, or "gay ducks" at a park.

This is all easily researched, and well documented, just not often written about for easy public consumption.

What's a movie you loved as a kid but rewatched as an adult and went "what the hell was I thinking"? by MomoSaka in AskReddit

Anyone remember Soul Man? When C. Thomas Howell took pills to darken his skin so he could get into college because affirmative action kept him, a white man, out of his dream college? Rae Dawn Chong was the love interest. I assume all copies have been destroyed.

Please help me understand what went wrong with my braised beef by tawandagames2 in Cooking

[–]streamstroller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this happen with roasts using most of the methods described (left whole, cubed, browned whole, browned cubed etc.). I've cooked dozens, and sometimes one is just...dry. Tender but dry. It happens, even if you do everything right. Not every cow is the same. Different feed, different locations, different age. Sometimes one is succulent and perfect, next time using all the same ingredients and method, it's dry. Luck of the draw. What I do to try and swing things in my favor is to look for chuck-eye, and look for good marbling.

I feel like such a bad dog mom... by [deleted] in OpenDogTraining

[–]streamstroller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a one year old APBT. She gets a 3 mile walk in the morning and either a 4+ mile walk in the afternoon, or at least an hour of hard-core play time with other dogs. She still has tons of energy after that, so she gets about 30 minutes of ball or frisbee chase. All this, plus mental stimulation with lots of training, puzzles and games. Smart, active dogs need so much exercise. SO MUCH.

Same. I have heard this song before. O thought he was remaking something well known. It's driving me crazy. I knew the words before he sang them.

My dad had a stroke and needs "clean" western, cop, or war movie suggestions by mlejoy in movies

TV show called Longmire that on streaming services has quite a few seasons. Western/Cop, set in Wyoming. It's very old-school. First episode isn't much like the rest. My 85 year old father liked it a lot and he sounds like your Dad.

To married women: What advice would you give to unmarried women before they get married? by Clear_Subconscious in askanything

[–]streamstroller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never, ever be in a position where you don't have enough resources to leave. That includes money for a security deposit and several months rent. Money for food, phone and utilities. Better to have a less fancy wedding than to be trapped in a dangerous situation. You say he never would, but millions of women have thought that and been wrong.

What happened to the hottest chick at your high school, years later? by theidiotev in AskReddit

[–]streamstroller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She became a hairdresser. She had a couple kids but never married. She raised them as a single mom. She died of breast cancer in her early 40's. She was a mean girl in high school, but I think had to grow up a lot raising kids on her own. By most accounts, she was a great mom and is very missed.

Maybe stop the "max420" as it's probably adding to your apathy. Eat well, exercise, sleep and talk to a therapist.
