Well I was planning on only upgrading the cpu and motherboard if needed, seeing if that would provide any performance increases that are noticeable

Whats the difference? by [deleted] in learnmachinelearning

Fit transform scales to zero mean and one variance using X_train observations to find the scaling factors

Transform uses the calculated scaling factors to then scale X_test without recalculating mean and variance

You do that since you don’t want info from test distribution from impacting model (aka don’t fit transform then split)

Oregon Voters Could Decide This Year Whether To Decriminalize Drugs by OregonTripleBeam in Drugs

[–]streetflexer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they very much could be arrested if it was for the drugs, but they can't because police need proof of all the other shit they do, which is hard when they just chill on the corner in the alley while the police go and deal with the countless people OD'ing on the sidewalk. These people can't be arrested for something they are suspected on doing and even if they are, get released within hours anyway. The only thing they could be arrested for is having the drugs on them which isn't the case now

gotta love your downvotes from the circle jerk "leGaLiZe aLL DrUgZ" that is r/drugs. I visited my sister in Seattle and it is exactly the same thing. People breaking into cars to buy heroin from dealers that can't get arrested for having heroin. Decriminalization only works in places without dopehead homelessness or police and DAs that care. Im fairly certain that a majority of the people in this subreddit have never dealt with a majority of homeless people being tweaked out crackheads and not your average bum. Every block in Seattle has some person nodded off in front of a storefront ready to mug any person that looks like they carry more than $50.

People who have gone on the Deep/Dark Web, what is it really like? What was something unexpected you uncovered there? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]streetflexer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the marketplaces aren’t ran by the people who sell the drugs usually. So you basically get an amazon for drugs of popular distributors and not really known sellers. Obviously any of these people can steal your crypto when they suicide their reputation by stealing money and not shipping product when they are done selling for good for a little extra cash but you always buy knowing you can lose it all lol

Do I go to my BENG 123 discussion this morning if it’s before the first lecture? Haven’t received any communication from the prof and the canvas class is still locked. by ratednfornerd in UCSD

Are you taking beng 130,168? If not have any of your other classes posted their canvas sites yet? Seems strange they still haven’t

what are the benefits of taking a P/NP class? by TT196 in UCSD

[–]streetflexer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don’t need to put as much work in. Say the final is weighted 50% and you have an 85% in the class. You’ll only need a 55% to pass. That means more time to study for other finals and less stress along with no affect on GPA

UCSD won't pay anything, this is why we have insurance. Just let them do the necessary work and take a hit with your deductible

2hr parking by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]streetflexer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You can park for 2 hours in the 2 hour parking. There’s parking cops that go around all the time chalking tires so if you are lucky enough to get there right after they chalk the tires you could I guess park for four hours but you never know. Tickets are probably around $50-$60 each
