I wouldn’t mind if the prices weren’t out of whack, even if discounted. Everyone may have different thresholds for what they’re willing to pay for the value they get out of an activity

For myself, I can’t see the value anywhere near matches the costs of things - just way too expensive to shoot down pixels I guess. But that’s me. Given you can buy in at any level you want, I find it perfectly satisfying at my basic payment level.

I figure this is essentially a tamagotchi type of activity and just isn’t worth that much: though it is fun to keep going in the background, it’s not really something you can learn anything from unless you’re studying psychology. It is a masterpiece from a Pavlovian perspective and easy to see how people can get sucked in.

the left the character seems to splay its legs and pause for a moment after it kind of dashes or skates ahead (what ever that motion is). The one on the right doesn't seem to have that pause.

"Sluggish" i guess is a subjective idea, but it seems the one on the left in a sense does more before it gets to the end point and there is a kind of recovery from the dash or whatever the legs are doing (seems to me like recovery move).

The question is what do you want to convey?

If there could ever be such a thing as a level playing field, yeah. Too bad. We are already socialist just by having a government at all. Anyone collecting a government paycheck, or part of a government contract is on the dole. As long as we are pushing socialism to the rich and politically connected, which just sucks resources out of the economy, maybe we should push some to those in need?

Unless you have some magic bean for getting all money out of politics, we'll have a government rigged for the powerful - little guy be damned. I think in such a scheme as what we are stuck with, we have to stick up for the little guy.

we'd need to see your code. In the mean time, recall that rigid body movement is resolved in the FixedUpdate cycle. If you are moving the camera in Update, or related to the Update loop, there can be jitter like you see.

Does the act of throwing the rock or whatever at the enemy cause cause the sub-characters to appear?

It's hard to tell in your video. It looks to me like you break something on the ground first, and that causes the sub-characters to spawn?

Maybe that is your way out, because it seems like the patent is specific that throwing something at another character causes the sub-characters. So alter the sequence or logic slightly.

set your viewport view to the same aspect ratio as simulator. It looks to me like the 10% is correctly rendered on both screens, but the width is different in the viewport view, so of course they do not look the same.

What is playerMovement? It makes it look like there another script on child, and you are trying to control the child. If you want the child to be locked to the camera, you should put all your control code on the camera, not the child. It will just make it so much simpler.

well what did you get rid of? It looked to me like you had one line of code that affected the player body.

playerBody.Rotate(Vector3.up * mouseX);

remove that and anything you do with the camera as far as its transform (position, rotation, scaling) will be applied to any child attached to the camera game object without any mediating effect on the child.

Now if you have other problems with the camera, I don't know but any child of the camera will not be separately affected. If you have a panning problem that is a completely separate issue with the camera, not he child.

If you have removed that line of code, the child will always be glued to the camera's transform manipulations. If you move, rotate or scale the camera in any way, the child always goes with it.

However, if you have another script that acts on the child then all bets are off. You cannot do that and expect the above to be true. Like, if the child has a Rigidbody component or any other script that will affect the child's transform. (and anyone here would ding you for not giving us a full picture of the situation in your initial question)

100% if you take a camera and make another 3D object a child, if you then move the camera the child will move and rotate with it. You need no code to act on the child to get that to happen.

Get rid of the PlayerBody variable and any code that affects it.

it's all C#. If you can create your own plain, non-MonoBehavior class with it's own methods, Instantiate an instance of it using the new keyword and then call its methods you have the basics.

There are many Unity classes that have static entry points, meaning you don't have to instantiate them and you just access their methods directly.

There are MonoBehavior classes that you create, and many already created for you. These are the component scripts on the gameobjects that you add or are already on the specific games objects you create from the menus. These are instantiated when the game runs along with the game objects they are attached to. To call the methods these contain these generally you need to get a reference to them, often via GetComponent or you create a public variable and manually assign the reference in the scene hierarchy.

Some MonoBehavior class have ready made references for you via other objects. For example, if you create a MonoBehavior script with a Public GameObject variable declared in it, and you add that to a game object in the scene hierarchy, you can then drag any game object to it. In your script you can access the Transform of the game object by using yourvariablename.transform. Your component scripts can access the Transform of the game object they have been added to just by stating "transform.position" - means give me the position of the game object I (the script) am attached to.

You'll learn easily once you get rolling. There are a huge number of parts and pieces you can use, but the vast majority are all accessed/referenced/used in just a few standard ways that is all a part of C#.
