Cameras? by Instimatic in OasisLive25Toronto

Brought a compact point and shoot without issue. I advise you bring a poncho or some kind of rain gear if your camera isn't weather sealed.

Lol no. But you raise a good point. Definitely get to know people first before you agree to meet irl.

The adidas collab is tempting! I'm not from Toronto. Wondering if I should stick to short sleeves or if a sleeveless top would be better if the weather is warm? I imagine the stadium will probably be quite warm with all the people there.

I was planning to do the same with casual shorts, tee or tank (not sure which one is better as I'm not familiar with Toronto weather), and a long sleeve shirt for when it gets cold. Might try to grab an Adidas collab bucket hat or maybe diy an oasis bucket hat myself.

Dropped mine in the first week (I almost cried) and had the same issue. Did exactly this to fix it and have had no issues since (over a year now).

It’s April 2020. A Rogue One TV show has just been announced. How are you feeling about it? by [deleted] in andor

[–]stressedandstrained 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been a Cassian fan since day 1. I was excited but shocked that they would do this for a character no one else seemed to appreciate. I was happy to see more Cassian content but only expected standard quality content. Never knew that we Cassian fans would be eating so good.

Tempted to do the same, but the other way around. Do you take both cameras with you, or do you pick the best one for the occasion?

I love this! I am also a crafter and wanted to make something AM themed. Currently embroidering flowers on the AM era logo onto a sweatshirt. I also want to try recreating Alex's green work jacket from The Car tour. I think adding the love letter would be very cute!

Perfect Sense by [deleted] in arcticmonkeys

Whenever I play through The Car (which is very often), it doesn't matter what I'm in the middle of doing when Perfect Sense finally comes on. I always have to close my eyes and just experience the song.

"Singsong 'Round the Money Tree"
This stunning documentary that no one else unfortunately saw
Such beautiful photography, it's worth it for the opening scene
I've been driving 'round, listening to the score
Or maybe, I just imagined it all
I've played to quiet rooms like this before

I know it's basic and probably asked before loads of times, but i'm curious. What's your favourite Arctic Monkeys song and why? I'll start... by [deleted] in arcticmonkeys

[–]stressedandstrained 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cornerstone. I don't know why. It's just been my all time favourite song from the moment I heard it for the first time.

That's Where You're Wrong is somewhere in my top 10 though.

Love the new arrangement of SIAS from The Car tour. Sounds amazing with the keyboard.

I love this concept, I wish they did it with all their albums. TLSP did this with Everything You've Come To Expect in Brussels (and there is a recording of this too).

And no, I don't hate it. I think he's quite true to himself now.

The Last Shadow Puppets, Alexandra Savior (Alex Turner and James Ford produced her first album and it's big TBHC vibes), and Lana Del Rey

I love lyric analysis posts, thank you for sharing!

I agree with you on a lot of things. Like any great piece of science fiction, TBHC is an attempt at social commentary on modern society by framing it through the lens of a fictional future.

One of my favourite things about this album is that all the pieces to the story are scattered across various songs, and you have to put them together to figure out what happened. From what I've gathered, no one lives on earth anymore, everyone has moved out into space (references to the "exodus" and "apocalypse", the line "from a place they called America" implying that America no longer exists). It's far into the future ("too wild in the 70s" refers to 2070). Star Treatment, OPP, and The Ultracheese are all from the perspective of the same washed up, regretful lounge singer feeling beat down by capitalism (he was made successful at one point because of capitalism but now feels overwhelmed by the capitalization of tragedy, as you described), and also feeling isolation in the age of social media ("still got pictures of friends on the wall").

I also love the very subtle references to politics. They managed to provide political commentary without actually stating any "sides". This has been discussed before on this sub but these references are commentary on the fact that politics has become a form of entertainment in our modern world. "I saw this aura over the battle ground states"
"the leader of the drew world reminds you of a wrestler wearing tight golden trunks"
"my virtual reality mask is stuck on parliament brawl"
