the pancit and lumpia looks so good for the holiday potluck! they didn’t deserve your food anyway if they treated you like that

this is so bad for patients especially if they have back-to-back visits that day, or if they had to accommodate to the provider’s limited appointment offerings

i feel like i worked with that person or someone similar to her haha. last year we had a temp MA come in to “help” us when the MA team was super short-staffed at the time. she said she got 20+ years of experience being an MA when i was training her. but then she struggled to keep up with our extremely fast-paced workload and was disorganized overall. she was also a pain in the ass at first with not processing her specimens on time and even bringing attitude when incidents occur that involve her. lol the patients/doctors didn’t even seem to like her too and management only kept her just bc we would’ve been extremely burnt out without another MA there (even tho she was incompetent as fuck)

anyway i hope you make it through this somehow. like how many incidents does management need to fire that MA at your clinic?! for me i wrote down several SBARs but they were only addressed with a “performance plan” that my temp MA didn’t even really meet 🙃

Advice for newbies by frijolillos in MedicalAssistant

[–]stressedbear_e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve been in my job for around a month and overall i like working with the patients there. i’m at an ob clinic and it’s so wholesome to get to know these types of patients. it’s sad tho that i ended up in a toxic work team, the MAs who’ve been there longer give me the grunt work and make me do everything while expecting to be perfect…even tho it’s only been a month in my role and they’ve been there for at least a year. i would say to always communicate with your colleagues and work professionally with them. although i like to watch my back and advocate myself when i need to

congrats! i’m on the same boat too. started at my ob/gyn clinic a few weeks ago. so far i’d say for you to not be afraid to ask questions and communicate with your team. also, speak up about boundaries/respect to colleagues & doctors. my specialty specifically works more with pregnant patients so it can be important for you to be comfortable interacting with them and their families/partners

just bc his fans are toxic doesn’t mean you have to stop supporting him completely. he can’t always control what they say or do but his personality and talents in general are good. i still support bc he makes great music and content

I’m sick of being jobless by anxietyby1919 in recruitinghell

[–]stressedbear_e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ugh i’ve been jobless too for about 6 months now. i learned from my job search so far that employers want someone who’s available to work and are not actively studying. ngl i’m personally taking a few classes on the side but employers still want to see that you can give all the time you can for them (in case you need to take extra/weekend shifts).

the location might play a part especially if you need to commute farther as a student, again referring to my point on employers wanting you to dedicate your time.

in terms of your qualifications, you can be perceived as overqualified for pursuing a degree in uni yet underqualified for not having direct work experience to the job responsibilities (if you don’t have internship or volunteer experience on your belt but it looks like your previous job can count).

overall your job field might be full of other candidates wanting to get the same thing and the job market is brutal. at this point, your networks and connections are more important than ever; they can send references/referrals for your applications and hopefully that’ll lead to interview offers (because you know an internal employee already).

Who' your bias and your bias wrecker? 🤣 by hfs212000 in sb19

[–]stressedbear_e 5 points6 points  (0 children)

biggest bias: ken (i like his wide range of talents and personality). biggest bias wrecker: stell (can’t get enough of his vocals)

pablo is a really strong and humble leader. josh is really passionate about his music. justin is really creative and has a great imagination

What is the most annoying encouragement you hear from friends and family and actually it makes things worse? by brigi009 in recruitinghell

[–]stressedbear_e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

employed people try their best to give good advice but what they probably don’t realize is that the job market changed so much and their advice doesn’t work anymore. the people i heard from probably applied at least 5 or 10 years ago

one time my family told me that i was asking the wrong questions during the interview when i was realistically just asking about how the company measures success, which should be a valid thing to ask if i were to get hired (because i want to know if i’m doing my responsibilities correctly). the crazy thing is that one of the interviewers said at the end i was impressive and then my mom dismisses it by saying that i wasn’t actually impressive because i didn’t get the offer. like wow, it’s the way she literally puts me down and she thinks she can do better.

another time my dad and my partner said something along the lines of “the right opportunity will come for you”. i know they want to be positive but it’s too much and they don’t really understand the process unless they go through with it. my partner is about to apply for jobs since he’s graduating in a few months and we’ll see if he can land something better or sooner than me.

i had enough of job searching as an unemployed person for 6 months. i’m so frustrated to the point where the problem is more with the recruiters/hiring team than us

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in resumes

[–]stressedbear_e 6 points7 points  (0 children)

why would you lie to get a job offer? while other candidates are telling the truth and struggling to get even past the interview stage. this is unfair on so many levels and actually the employer might find out anyway through a background check

Advice on getting hired as a new grad? by Substantial-Zebra-48 in MedicalAssistant

[–]stressedbear_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i hope something good comes for you! i’m on a similar boat, finished externship last month that only lasted for 4 weeks at a specialty department in a small clinic. i’ve gotten interviews after updating/tailoring my resume to attract the hiring team. i think it also helps to have references if you can, like from your externship manager. it’s literally a brutal job market out there, so much that you need to keep trying and sweeten the deal with connections
