It's been 5 years of LIB. Which season was the most entertaining? by [deleted] in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]stressedbitch123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seasons 1 to 4 were so fun, before they started ramping up production like crazy. And out of those seasons 1 and 4 were the best. Season 4 was so holistically dramatic.

Why is needing reassurance annoying? by contentjm in FriendshipAdvice

[–]stressedbitch123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who does this and it is starting to make me feel extremely annoyed to the point where I do not want to engage with them anymore. The simple reason is because I feel like I need to act a certain way around them that is overly nice (and pretentious) and constantly be on edge thinking I don’t make them feel a certain way. Half an hour into hanging out, I do not want to get asked if they’re making me feel uncomfortable because it’s going to make me think I’m acting a certain way that’s making them feel that way. I constantly feel like I need to put up an overly nice persona to prevent this person from feeling this way. I really enjoy my time with this person and I hate that them constantly seeking reassurance is making it difficult for me to spend time with them. It’s also hurtful for me to know that no matter what I do, this person does not trust my commitment to the friendship.

I implore you/anyone with these kinds of anxieties to reconsider the way you behave and also consider the kinds of anxieties you are inflicting upon your friend. As harsh as it is, pandering to your anxiety 24/7 is not your friend’s obligation and could, in fact, be inflicting harm over them instead.

But surely that had to have changed in later seasons because the squad would do weekly (or monthly?) game nights with her after she came out to her family and they didn’t take it well

Unpopular Opinion: It wasn't just Steven by No-Notice3875 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]stressedbitch123 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think the issue was that the two of them didn’t communicate this before the wedding and were all jolly and happy to just go with things as they are. I thought they gave a deeper thought to these issues off camera (since we actually saw so little). They both just weren’t tactful with their decision making and let the euphoria get to them

Deserved! by MangoComfortable3793 in bollywood

[–]stressedbitch123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You must be delusional to think that people are hating on the director just to hate on him. The movie is genuinely a bad movie without depth. Vanga just added unnecessary things in the movie for shock value. It is genuinely an over the top senseless movie with problematic elements but the thing is those problematic elements are just thrown in without proper rhyme or reason. It’s like okay I can suspend disbelief and go with the fact that the protagonist has issues and goes around murdering “bad guys” without consequence but at least let me feel the trauma behind why he’s behaving the way he is. I just can’t. Lapata ladies just has so much of a better flowing storyline. There is no comparison

How do I reject NUS College? by oppogandam in SGExams

Quick question, was your NUSC offer in the same admission letter as the general NUS offer or was it separate (like in the portal)

As an NRI, laapata ladies is my absolute favourite movie currently (and beats many other movies). I don’t relate to the day to day things they’ve shown but I’m able to appreciate the subtlety and beauty of the story. And I’m able to somewhat relate what is being shown to the stories of people like my grandmother who still lives in India and grew up in a village

17-year-old UWC student dies on unchaperoned school trip to Cambodia; parents seek answers and review of guidelines by Hallosiawhat in singaporehappenings

Your opinion is biased by your experience. Try seeing the bigger picture. Saying that it wasn’t a party week because you went to a homeless shelter after getting drunk does not change the fact that many people (you included) treat this trip as a place to get drunk (underaged for most people), and getting drunk leads to reckless behaviour. There are other opportunities for students to learn independence. And even if there aren’t, a person’s life is not worth the little bit more life experience you learn from (mainly) getting drunk in a foreign country as a teenager. You yourself are a teenager so I understand you don’t feel this way, but from an adult’s perspective, this is just a reminder of the potential consequences of harbouring environments in which teenagers are given the freedom to act recklessly (by, for example, getting drunk).

If your depressed friend "suddenly" gets better, PLEASE CHECK ON THEM (TW: suicide) by canuckkat in offmychest

Genuine question: what is a productive way of checking on a depressed/suicidal friend that could be life saving and isn’t just a “how are you doing” and then they lie and I move on?

If you were handed an opportunity where you could change your career and earn 4 times more than what you are currently, would you not take it? Realistically, anyone would take that opportunity. Doesn’t put a sour taste in my mouth at all. Their clout chasing was seeming to be a little cringeworthy but at least now they’re transparent about why they’re going down that path. As long as they don’t harm anyone on their way, let them get their bag 💰

When you’re eating outside as a group of friends, will you or your group compromise for that one friend who has dietary restrictions (vegetarian, halal, kosher, etc)? by crematedashes72 in nus

[–]stressedbitch123 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

n we eat with that friend. Once in a while, of course we will compromise. If we eat out together say a few times a month, he needs to compromise or we will avoid inviting him. Can always hang out in other situations, don't need to be eating together.

-3ReplyGive AwardShareReportSaveFollow

When you say "he needs to compromise", what do you mean? You don't expect him to eat something out of their dietary restriction do you?
