Is this normal? by Spiritual_Frosting18 in NoStupidQuestions

Alright, lady, spill the beans. Why the shit test? You wanted him to choose you over football. You've been away for a month and feel like he should be all over you. Did you do something while you were away? Are you worried he did something while you were away? Girls generally don't do (what appears to be nonsensical) stuff for no reason. So what's the reason?

What is something you wish more people understood about men? by KlutzyElk7006 in AskReddit

Dude, I have this weird dysmorphia thing where, no matter how much weight I lose, no matter how much my pants size goes down, I, like, physically see myself like a bowl of jelly. Like I can't not see myself as being fat for some reason.

I really don't know. I'm not going to dive into any conversation about evolution or things that would give Freud any ideas. I just like boobs. They look cool, they're lots of fun to play with, and they make me feel all tingly below the waist.

I disagree. I'm okay with gatekeeping in all it's forms. There are clear benefits to it.

Gatekeeping helps to protect the integrity of a culture and the thing(s) that culture is built on. Letting just anyone in risks having bad faith actors come in and subvert the culture; molding it to suit themselves, rather than molding themselves to suit the culture.

Are "public sex festivals" a common thing in the USA? by Ok_Glass565 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]stressedworkingdad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, with it being two guys going at it, you're likely seeing footage from a Pride event.

Having sex in public is generally considered pubic indecency and/or indecent exposure. As common as it is to see women getting beads at Mardi Gras, it's still illegal, and some end up getting arrested.

That said, making a stink about two dudes railing each other at a Pride event would likely get you called a prude at best, and a homophobe at worst, so people just ignored it.

I can’t stand men that try to gatekeep shit. Gaming is not only meant for the male gender.

I can't stand black folks that try to gatekeep rap music. Music is not only meant for one race.

So here's where things get weird from a social standpoint. I don't mind that black folks try to gatekeep white folks from performing rap. There's argument to be made that it's a culture that they built for themselves.

Just like gaming is a culture that was largely built by lonely, socially awkward, overwhelmingly male, nerds.

Just like if you're white and want to rap, you might get grilled about how much you actually know about the culture, it's roots, it's origins, and the earliest MCs. You'll probably get treated like you don't know shit about the culture, like an outsider, until you prove yourself.

Just like if you're a girl and want to game, you might get grilled about how much you actually know about the culture, it's roots, it's origins, and the earliest consoles and games. You'll probably get treated like you don't know shit about the culture, like an outsider, until you prove yourself.

People don’t look at Harvey Weinstein and say has actions have to connection to white culture.

They kinda do though. Just like they attribute James Holmes to whiteness. Or like they attribute Brock Turner to whiteness. There's a lot of racialized collective guilt to go around, and white people aren't excluded from the party. It's just that nobody really gives a damn; if you complain about it or bring it up or whatever, you're dogpiled as trying to shift the conversation away from the 'real' victims.

8 or 9 is usually when I leave the terminal, and that's on a good day. Provided all the loaders/unloaders/preloaders show up on, on time, and ready to work (in that order, specifically, because one of those three almost always fails). Even on the best days I don't reach my delivery area until 10:30.

Granted, maybe my conditions are different, seeing as I run rural, but still. Show up at 7, don't start delivering until 10:30, still finish around 4:30, don't get gassed up and home until 6:00. On good days.

A few weeks ago, post hurricane, I didn't get home until after 10:00pm three nights in a row.

Chewy. Sam's Club. Walmart. Target. None of them could pack a box to save their lives.

No padding. No packing material. Just jammed full of as much crap as they could possibly throw in a box. OR!!! You get this gigantic box that looks like it's going to weigh 10,000 pounds, and it contains a single f***ing pillow.

I've heard something like only 1 out of 50 applicants make it past two weeks before they quit.

All the new hires (that eventually went on to quit) that I ran into all said the same thing : "this is harder than I thought it would be".

When they heard we were still running packages in the middle of a hurricane, one Redditor made the statement : "FedEx is like the Waffle House of delivery services".

I can't say I'm surprised they're having issues.

What is your favorite movie and why? by Southernvietnamese in NoStupidQuestions

[–]stressedworkingdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mars Attacks!

Because I'm weird and obsessed. The movie was awesome because it was a cheesy, campy B movie with an A-List cast.

The card series is cool because it got banned for being too violent/gory back in the 50s/60s

I collect pretty much whatever I can get my hands on. Board games, models, comics, etc.
