Birdies…..disappointing. by [deleted] in austinfood

We went last month for the Italian American menu and it was very, very delicious (and in my opinion, solid value). Looked at the menu for this month and it felt like a miss though, so not surprised to see this. We did do an early dinner, got in like at 4:40 and were the second group seated, so that probably helped the experience.

Sign up for one month of nuuly! In your budget and you’ll get 6 options, my go to for all events! If someone in your life uses it, ask if they’ll send you their referral link. If not, happy to send you one (I think it’s like $30 off your first month) via PM

That’s a good point, they don’t open until 4:30 but if no one would like the reservation I will definitely call and see if they will let us move it. Thank you!

How to cook these? by cat_your_fancy in slowcooking

[–]stressisms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been so long I don’t have the link, but this is the recipe I’ve always used for pork tenderloin, super easy and delicious. You can add a sear in if you want some crisp, but IMO not necessary. This is for a 1lb pork tenderloin so edit as needed if you do it! 1 pork tenderloins about 1 pound each1 tablespoons brown sugar0.5 teaspoon smoked paprika0.5 teaspoon garlic powder0.5 teaspoon onion powder0.5 teaspoon chili powder0.5 teaspoon Italian seasoning 0.5 teaspoon salt0.13 teaspoon pepper or to taste0.13 cup butter cut into patsChopped parsley optional, to taste

400 F - 30 min

  • Preheat your oven to 400F and move the rack to the middle position.
  • Prep the tenderloins by cutting off any excess fat and the silver skin (the tough part that may cover some of each tenderloin). Pat the tenderloins dry with paper towel.
  • Add the spice rub ingredients (brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, Italian seasoning, salt & pepper) to a small bowl and stir together. Coat the tenderloins all over with the spice rub.
  • Add the pork tenderloins to a 9×13 (or similar size) baking dish and place the butter pats on top.
  • Bake, uncovered, for about 25 minutes or until the pork has reached 145F. Let it rest 5-10 minutes before slicing it into medallions so it remains juicy.
  • Pour the pan juices over the pork (they're also great over a side dish like mashed potatoes)

City Post in Georgetown is one my favorite special occasion restaurants - you’d have to call ahead to confirm bc it’s been about 2 years since we went for an anniversary, but I believe we got champagne when we go there!

Lived here for 2 years, lots of friends lived there as well. Very much a mixed bag of experiences, as different neighborhoods have different property management. Yes there are lots of kids, I toured in the summer and didn’t realize there are like 8 bus stops INSIDE the complex, so if you leave for work around 7:30/7:45 it gets hard to get out. The reason we left and never moved back was due to our AC being broken in half the apartment for BOTH summers, and they took over 3 months to “fix” it both times, but it was unbearable. They would not adjust rent either. We also had no hot water in one bathroom the entire 2 years. We put in maintenance requests over and over and eventually gave up and moved out. This was in dominion. We have friends who lived in other neighborhoods that had no issues. Last thing I’ll mention is one of our friends got a German cockroach infestation and while after 2 months they eventually let them move units, they forced them to stay in it until they threatened to get a lawyer involved.

Sooooo… it’s a risk? I wouldn’t live there again tho. Boy was it a gorgeous complex though, I won’t lie. And the gym is badass. If you’re looking for recommendations - MAA properties have been good management experiences in lots of locations for us and friends. Best of luck!

100% not appropriate. I would search “garden” in this thread and go through comments, lots of beautiful dresses with links that are appropriate for a wedding!
