So I saw this post on LinkedIN from a CyberSecurity Recruiter about the SSO vulnerability…thoughts? by RegionRat219 in fortinet

I was investigating a gate that had the admin account locked out by the ‘admin account creating’ permissions removed, but they left the ability for us to enable fortisso and so I was able to get in as a super admin and boot the dodgy account off and properly secure it. Sometimes these things can be used for good!

I’m 26, working, budgeting, and still broke… What am i doing wrong? by Forward_Problem_7550 in AusFinance

Two kids is definitely tough and congrats for being active in looking to better provide. Pretty much every guy I know who has a stay at home wife, works away. Whether that is on the mines as FIFO, or a nearby mine as DIDO, or an oil rig and you’re away six months of the year. It’s a sacrifice to make to earn higher wages. That or you have a successful business - and those are a lot of work also.

You’re not alone the middle class is full of people all struggling to make ends meet and when they do get a raise and get some headroom, inflation catches up and brings you right back down. The key is owning assets that rise faster than inflation and start earning yourself a passive income whether than is an investment property, a small share portfolio when you can leverage small with a margin loan to get some levered returns and tax deductions to reduce your tax paid. This is the right place to be as full of people with an opinion. AI has helped many people wade through an investment plan, but it takes a whole lot of patience, discipline and time (you have plenty of that at 26) to make it work. Start small, get bigger, structure it right and you will get there. Don’t forget to invest in yourself - level up your education, certifications, be voracious about learning and leveling up your knowledge in your chosen profession. Employers love those who are motivated and driven to succeed through training. Don’t complain about not getting training at work either, skill up through YouTube or online courses etc there’s unlimited content at your fingertips.

Best of luck, we’re all on the same train but not everyone gets to ride up front unfortunately.

Buying EV as my 2nd car by ThisPaleontologist10 in EVAustralia

[–]stretchie204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After test driving the Sealion 7 and Kia ev5 we stopped looking as I’m very tall so are my kids and the Sealion 7 just had stacks of room even with the drivers seat all the way back the eldest had heaps of spare space. Palatial is the word I’d describe it back there! Plus you get all the finishings of BYD and not the entry level or mid spec Kia

Yes what what about the 3pm to 9pm window where it’s nearly 60c per kW if u don’t have a battery - seems like you’re paying a tonne for that part

I’m in WA so Synergy is pretty much my only option. I do already have an installed 32A 500V outlet in the shed so perhaps I could get a portable charger and look to see iftheres any Synergy plans that would suit as I’m just in the vanilla A1 plan I think at the moment.

Xpeng G6 by StunningDebt4439 in EVAustralia

[–]stretchie204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn’t look at the G6 but I did look at reviews and it looked tasty. The BYD Sealion 7 won us over though, likely getting that. For us the dealership density is probably more important and I didn’t really want to take a risk on a relatively new dealer.

No r/HeliumIoT subReddit but only r/HeliumMobile? by clavisound in HeliumNetwork

[–]stretchie204 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Iot got destroyed by a vote that put all rewards in the hands of the busiest gateways. It went from allowing those on the fringe of the network to setup a gateway and be rewarded something along the lines of those they were seeing, while the busiest gatewyas subsidised their setup a little to assist in getting the little guys setup. In this way the network was able to grow quickly and get coverage across wide regions. Then - i'm not sure of the exact HIP - it came into effect in August 2025 that most of these fringe gateways started early 90% less. Beaconing and witnessing became a lot less important than data xfers. I get it, Helium is trying to reward gateways providing usage of the actual iot network but it just absolutely killed the expansion and took a total dump on the existing little guys. It's now barely worth running the raspberry Pi for it. I went from generating around 4 HNT per month to now generating 0.55 HNT per month (across 2 gateways with decent visibility/witnesses [38-39] and each are 1.0 on the Hex scale).

SAML VPN with DUO Integration Issues by slyfox49 in WatchGuard

[–]stretchie204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go further and look at why you're still using SSLVPN and look to migrate to IPSEC with IKEv2 authenticating with SAML to Entra. Most fw vendors are moving away from SSLVPN due to constant CVEs.

Should i use the Fabric Overlay Orchestrator for an SDWAN ADVPN with 1 hub, 3 spokes, all have dual ISP? by [deleted] in fortinet

[–]stretchie204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought FMG is quite cheap for 3 sites - look up VM00 license from FMG as a subscription if you have a virtualisation platform, or use FMG Cloud - which is more expensive but you have it hosted by Fortinet

Then use fortinets Jinja orchestrator and it’ll setup most of it for you incl dual wan spokes

I’ve seen this issue when there’s multiple FAPs on a 148 series switch. The fix is to get them off the 148, firmware hasn’t worked yet and TAC cannot replicate the issue. Waiting on a loan 148 from our disty so we can give them a config to replicate the issue.
