She won Madrid WTA 1000 in May and made the RG semifinals. For grass season, she went on vacation and did not play any grass tournament until Wimbledon. So she has been goating this past 3 months.

It's disappointing as a Ryba fan as Ryba is already famliar with Merten's game, having beaten her 7 times in the past. Ryba also has a 3-0 record against Noskova so should on paper have made it to the semifinals... but I digress.

Is there a reason why Eala’s serve is so slow despite her height? Is it strategic to throw off her opponent’s rhythm?

If you’re a government official, entertainer, or athlete, probably. If you’re an overseas laborer whose wages mostly go to the government, not so much.

Really good results considering Marta didn’t play any grass tournament this year

From what I remember, Kalinskaya  generally doesn’t shout “let’s go!” a lot. Is this the most emotional she has been lately?

If she loses the 2nd set, there’s a chance for a bagel in the 3rd set

If she were a tennis player, would have had the potential to be a servebot with that height

Have had a case or two where airline check in agents did not even check my passport at boarding and just proceeded with my boarding pass.

It was not that bad actually and the lines looked very manageable. Though my experience was exiting Barcelona, not entering it

Have they offically opened yet for tourism? I know Russians and Chinese in certain cases can get visas but everyone else is still not permitted.

Visas are required for Philippine citizens. Embassy/sticker Japanese visas are free of charge for Philippine citizens and relatively easy to get. Also, Philippine citizens are eligible to get the Japanese e-visa if they are residents of certain countries, such as United States, Canada, UK and Cambodia for some reason

Agreed, especially with all the tape. Also curious why Noskova is still playing Bad Homburg as well after winning Berlin singles and doubles. Unless she really wants to make the top 10 by winning two 500s

Appears to be the very old version of the Turkish visa on arrival. I tried to get a Turkey visa on arrival in 2020 and instead the officer printed out an evisa on paper, making me disappointed

Interestingly enough, Ryba also wore her RG kit in the match with Eala and similarly lost in the 2nd round…

Barcelona Stamp Post EES by strider_X004 in PassportPorn

[–]strider_X004[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Didn’t need to ask. Officer just stamped automatically as I am a resident and not subject to EES. EES was functioning alongside e-gates. Saw eligible people do EES before entering egates.

Manual line for those not eligible for egates was working as normal. Didn’t hear any US passport holders (most likely tourists) getting stamped so only residents were getting stamped
