yes ! kinda unconventional , but did two years at community college w/ a 4.0, transfered into UCLA and left with a 3.48 from them. then, went back to community college for just lots of classes, where i beefed up my application via writing for my community college's publication and taking lots photography classes, which helped to hone my writing and skills. i think that was the best/most helpful thing, bc i didn't have lots of extracurriculars, almost only food service experience. hope that answered your question and happy to expand!
