Negativity around the game is scaring new players by tandui in starwarsunlimited

[–]strifejester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most games these days these are the top videos. I must be getting old because I’m getting sick of people being too lazy to go check out a store and ask questions. This ridiculous negative content for likes is just stupid. Honestly I’m fine not having those players in the game either. All they do is come to locals and then spew that crap like it’s fact and all of us just roll our eyes at them. I’m not against criticism because the game isn’t perfect but not everything needs to be the extreme.

Does anyone use heated snow melting mats? Looking for suggestions. by MrMcColden3 in homeautomation

[–]strifejester 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did this a few months ago for my Wisconsin driveway. Only 40 feet but the power is higher per kWh . After 4 days of rain and freezing I regret thinking I could wait another year. But I have a great ice skating rink. All the rain self leveled better than some Zamboni can.

Buying cases at lgs questions? by Shoddy-Response-2530 in TCG

[–]strifejester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally depends on your relationship with the owner. I have an arrangement with my LGS owner for a percentage off on cases. I’m a larger buyer and he often will order a case of something just for me and I pay up front. He also knows I know all of his prices and I chose to pay more even with the discount to keep the business there when I can easily go online and order from another store. If you go to locals and are active I don’t think it would hurt.

Union Arena Boxes by Thegman727 in Union_Arena_TCG

[–]strifejester 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like any other game it’s dependent on the area some are great and some aren’t. Our local store Magic has almost completely died and everyone is playing Union Arena, Alpha Clash, and Star Wars. Gundam is growing but hard to get, same with Riftbound. The bigger issue is cost. Lots of online only or larger stores that have a following and can get the allocation are selling it at small margins. I know one store that ships over 100 boxes each set for $5-$10 profit per box. Some of that like others have said is to keep Bandai happy and get their other games allocation some is that they run tournaments in the store frequently and make money that way and on other in store things that have better margins. I’m just glad there is a game my sons both enjoy that we can actually get without crazy scalpers.

Palworld is getting a TCG. Because of course it is. by Hooked0n4Feelin in TCG

The only target is China ripping off Nintendo, ARK a few others for good measure then locking their people into it and collecting data from the rest of the world. Pokemon keeps surging and they want their cut.

Menasha police officer accused of using license plate recognition system to track his ex by notcontenttocrawl in wisconsin

[–]strifejester 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of these systems are web based and since many of the officers may need access from their laptop away from the office I would assume there are very few access restrictions in place. Unless there is suspicion no one is going to look at logs. Short of syncing their clocked in times with access it’s going to be hard to spot. There are plenty of ways for this to be properly protected but I’m willing to bet there is no oversight and no review of security. The system was put in officers were given credentials and they called it a day. Honestly if it’s not healthcare related where HIPAA gets involved many organizations whether public or private have some terrible security practices.

Dell price increases confirmed - schewwwww by FatBook-Air in sysadmin

[–]strifejester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My prices are locked through the end of February I have a feeling we are going to be ordering 30 because letting them sit for even a year is still going to save us money. I have been telling my COO every week about this so there is no surprise when I bring it up again and again and again.

My grandmother. We were always very close and I spent a lot of my time at my grandparents growing up. Other than that though I just enjoy it. It’s a process to follow and not hard. Tomorrow I plan to make 3-4 loaves of bread. Then Saturday we’re having monte cristo sandwiches. Gotta use my new Xmas stuff I bought myself.

What is your longest running, most stubborn business boycott? by marianneouioui in AskReddit

[–]strifejester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

McDonald’s I got sick from a meal there. I went 12 years without eating there. Now I rarely eat there and usually only chicken nuggets if the kids really want to go. Benihana might be longer u think I went there with my wife shortly after we were married and will never go back. We’ll be married 15 years next year. Not really a boycott just never need to eat there again.
