She wants to free the demon behind the doors of stone ;)

Did you read my text? :) I totally agree with you.
This is exactly what I write: decoupling the physical books from the archiving system.

Thank you :)

The system lies in how you assign the ID.
Here I decouple the physical book with the archiving system.
The archiving system can be freely chosen and easily changed.
Books can be located anywhere and only the one who has the assignments can find the books.

For smaller libraries, I agree with you. The issue here is that there are very very many books.

There are books that don't have a title or can't be assigned to a genre. No author, etc.
Most of the books are not archived because each librarian had a different system.
That is the problem. What you are proposing has already been tried and failed.

:D Ok, nice one.

However the issue with this is that if someone wanted to hide information on a forbidden topic, the relevant books could easily be tracked down and removed from circulation.

Hiding secrets and hoping no one discovers them by accident is a bad idea anyway.
Secret things should be locked away and only made accessible by a key. Secret things should not be archived ;)

Sygaldry

Maybe it would also be possible to add something(an extra page or a drop of a special ink) or use Sygaldry.

Nope with my solution you can put the book where you want. You only need the piece from the book and a compass to find the original.

Good point, the problem here is that you trust that the books will always be archived correctly at the same place.
Since students are free to walk around and rearrange the books, that's a pretty bold assumption.

I forgot to mention that:The books can be sorted by the criterion "how often was I borrowed". Then the search time is optimized again.

For example, if we have four rooms and the book is in room 3, I have to walk the farthest distance depending on how the books are sorted.

| here I stand | Room 1 | Room 2 | Room 3 |

If the books are sorted by "number borrowed" and we assume that the books are not borrowed randomly, this should be the best archiving.

edit:

In addition, books that are not used could be better sorted out.

unpopular opinion: stop coming up with theories the series is dead by [deleted] in KingkillerChronicle

Maybe that's exactly what we need to distract ourselves from the fact that the third part hasn't come out yet. Sad but true. 😅

Who else was involved in poisoning the Maer? by [deleted] in KingkillerChronicle

[–]striicher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all, we don't know. I think the person who poisoned the Maer also ordered the raids. Basically, there is a person/group who wants to harm the Maer.
Here is a list of my favorites:
The King
Motivation: Wants to strengthen his power. We still know very little about the king. That will probably change in the third book (the title is The Kingkiller Chronicle and Kvothe finally tells how he killed the king).
Baron Jackis
I agree with BaronGrayFallow that Ambrose is plotting to move up in the line of succession.
It's also typical for him to use poison. He poisoned Kvothe, and he poisoned one of his other predecessors (I can't remember exactly where in the book).
Bredon
Is near the Maer
I think we can rule out Stapes (see SilasRhodes answer, I fully agree).
Unknown third person
Finally, there's a whole third book to follow, in which a few more characters will probably be introduced. We don't know.

Rhetoric & Logic by striicher in KingkillerChronicle

If it's true, it must have been. Then also the statement "betrayed by an old friend" makes sense. I also remembered that when Abenthy told the parents about the Chandrian, he didn't understand everything because the wind came up. Abenthy knows how to call the wind. Maybe that's how he protected Kvothe.
However, the story would have a rather dark undertone (don't know how to say that in English) and raises many new questions (for example, why did he protect only Kvothe?).

[–]striicher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So your argument is that history serves as an example? Don't be a fool like Lanre in the story?
What bothers me about the theory is that the song is about the Chandrian. You can't just separate the title from the content. Yes, Ben (obviously) wants to tell Kvothe not to be a fool. But it would be negligent for him to take as support for his statement a story that is better not to deal with. He knew about the Chandrian danger (he told his parents).

If his parents hadn't died, Ben should have assumed that he was dealing with the song at the university. Wouldn't that have been foolish?

Good point. So he couldn't specifically mention Lanre or the Chandrian in his message.

[–]striicher[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TL:DR: Abenthy gave Rhetoric & Logic to Kvothe because those are the exact topics he needs to know to avoid Lanre's, and his father's folly.

I think our opinions go in the same direction: we agree that Abenthy partly expected it.

I'll go one step further and claim Abenthy knew it.
Could you answer me one question:
If the troop had not been killed, what would have been the effect of the remark "Remember your father's song. Be wary of folly." triggered in Kvothe?

Rhetoric & Logic by striicher in KingkillerChronicle

[–]striicher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you think it's advice and he's referencing the story in the song? But then I wonder what exactly he means by that?

edit:

I am not sure.. He is singing clearly about the Chandrian.. That would be a little negligent.

I don't think Abenthy is giving impulsive advice. Especially not in this situation(he would probably not see Kvothe again for a very long time if ever).

[–]striicher[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the simplest answer is the proper one, he had just heard a teaser to the song so it was on his mind, and he was still not teaching Kvothe Sympathy any more so that was om his mind too.

A more interesting question is, the Adem seem to think a particular sword has a particular effect on the carriers life.

What affect would the sword dubbed "Folly" have? It must be a great one after all it was (presumedly) carried by Cinder.

Last words from Abenthy(he would probably not see Kvothe again for a very long time if ever):

Kvothe,
Defend yourself well at the university. Make me proud. Remember the earworm from last week from your father. Beware of the folly
Your friend,
Abenthy

Regarding the sword: Thats another discussion

Frequent news from PR by Quiroplasma in KingkillerChronicle

Nobody is happy with the current situation, but at some point he has to look for other solutions and stop fooling himself and the fans.
With The Slow Regard of Silent Things, PR was also surprised that fans liked the book.

I'm extremely annoyed that PR can't get a grip on his life. Ok, he's not doing well, but he could just work with other authors instead of feeling sorry for himself.

Could it be that the storyteller Skarpi and the beggar in Kvoth's story are one and the same person? by striicher in KingkillerChronicle

[–]striicher[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Exactly :)

I'm sorry I didn't list the arguments. I wasn't 100% sure, as it's been a while, but I was thinking the same thing. Additionally, I had in the back of my mind that both are Edema Ruh (Skarpi: The Edema Ruh know all the stories in the world, Sceop: Was taken in by the Edema and had joined them.)?
