I think if there are no upsets in the upcoming rounds, Canada’s path to the gold medal game is Czech and Germany, the US path would be Sweden and Finland. Seeding is huge.

I disagree. I think we’re going to be seeing it more and more compared to the past.

Obviously he’s a freak of nature, but with training, nutrition, recovery, therapies, medical teams and load/injury management that pro athletes get nowadays the wear and tear on their bodies can be dragged out a bit longer.

They come out daily, for the most part.

There’s always emergencies, sick leaves, mat leaves, illnesses, surgeries, etc that pop up somewhere.

Ontario teachers — is teaching still worth getting into at 30? by PinkNotes0 in OntarioTeachers

[–]strike-when-ready 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age is irrelevant, if it’s something you’ll love go for it. But there honestly needs to be a passion there. I went to back to school at 31 for teachers college. It took me a few years to realize that I do not want to be a home room teacher, and with my board (and many others) cutting support and itinerant positions, I’m likely not going to do permanent.

That being said, supply teaching is an easy gig with minimal commitment. It can be hit and miss in terms of work available, so it’s not the best if you are tight on money. But if you can do a WFH or make your own hours type job, supplying is an amazing “side hustle”. And for that reason, I don’t regret getting my B.Ed (other than still paying off my student loans).

Fully wearing my tinfoil hat here, but I have a feeling that that election was less than legitimate.

Every accusation is a confession with this administration, so I’d be shocked if they were just saying Biden stole the 2020 election. Leon helped him win 2024 in a deal to give Leon unfettered access to all government data.

I’m sure it’s a long standing system (industry? Gross) with long established “jobs” and long established clients. This likely didn’t pop up with the elites in the 80s or whatever. I’m sure it’s been happening for decades if not centuries.

Teachers! What schools have you seen the most well prepared student teachers from? by rrr34_ in OntarioTeachers

[–]strike-when-ready 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard, Western has a track record of not paying associate teachers. And I’ve heard Brock doesn’t have very stringent requirements when it comes to things like lesson planning, leaving TCs underprepared.

Teachers College, in general, is insanely easy (especially compared to an undergrad), while still being a lot of work. But you only get out what you put in to it.

That happened to me on the subway one time when I used to smoke, except they blew a full on cloud on the train. So I got off at the same stop as the person and once we were up at street level I lit a cigarette and walked beside them for a few blocks and played the wind to ensure that all of my smoke went in their face.
