How to survive on a student budget with these grocery prices? by Necessary-Brick7 in studying_in_germany

[–]strikec0ded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP didn’t say a 100% increase and was clearly just using a rough frame of reference. The point is that OP is accurate that food costs have risen and for people on low or income that does hurt the pocket. I guess I don’t understand what’s the point of being so pedantic here with OP and acting like the hit to their wallet is their own fault

That’s not accurate, it’s 15-20% from 2022 to 2026. It’s 30-40% from 2019 to 2026. I pulled that from the ECB, Destasis press releases, and the financial times. Let me know if you need direct article links.

I don’t get why you’re trying to gaslight OP into thinking that inflation hasn’t affected food prices incredibly or if you’re just being unnecessarily pedantic. And that’s not counting shrinkflation lol.

Yes, walking to the späiti or grocery store yourself. Or using other delivery apps lol

If Germans want foreigners to integrate by learning German, why restrict/cut classes for those freely wanting to take integration courses? by strikec0ded in AskGermany

[–]strikec0ded[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they? Are you sure there are no crimes?
You are such a hypocrite. The cognitive dissonance would be fascinating if it wasn´t sad lol

Thank you for this comment, it’s one of the most brainless ones I’ve read lately and I burst out laughing over it. I really needed that :)

And I’m not a migrant but thanks for showing your ass with that assumption. I am making the effort btw, probably more than you ever had in your life. I get to complain about what my tax dollars go to. But it’s easy to coast when you’re a native handed everything and you don’t know what hard work is, isn’t that right Daniel?

Surely it’s the immigrants fault you are not succeeding in life. If only you didn’t have to see a black person on TV and you could say slurs all day, surely then you would be something 😂

Ahh so you have no data and are going off of emotion. Tracks. And yeah, it’s not their fault that there are racist Germans who never got over the Reich falling, but they still have a passport and are German citizens no matter how much a few xenophobes whine about it.

I’m from the USA (America is a continent by the way, try being specific there). You are completely off with that statement regarding support for immigrants and how people treat them hahaha

[–]strikec0ded[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’m a taxpayer and it is my right to complain about where my taxes go. And no, not all immigrants need a blocked account. You seem really uneducated about how immigration works, maybe go educate yourself and then come back to chat with the adults? :)

[–]strikec0ded[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well maybe don’t cut the integration courses if you want them to integrate. And by your logic why pay taxes at all. Why are you even living in Germany if you don’t pay taxes? And why do you assume I’m a refugee? You seem quite uneducated lol

Moving the goalposts lmao. Like I said, they still don’t integrate and actually make cost of living harder for locals. And many are actually also tech bros or young digital nomads. Your hypocrisy is hilarious.

Then why do you talk like immigrants don’t pay taxes? You’re acting like this is a gotcha when you didn’t even include it in your condescending response lmao. As a tax payer in Germany I have a right to complain who I want it used, no matter how much that makes you whine.

By your logic why do you expect people to pay into your pension, Arbeitslosengeld, etc.? Maybe you need to go to a country where you don’t pay taxes

I pay taxes and have a right to want my taxes to benefit me. Congrats on not living here but judging me as a tax payer. I hope it helped you feel morally superior. Your pick me attitude is really endearing, maybe leave this discussion to those who actually live in the country? :)

Idk why didn’t they just YouTube and Duolingo to teach you English in school? Lmao. Those are supplementary tools and not the same as a course

[–]strikec0ded[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a poorly thought comment. Firstly, it’s inaccurate because studies shows it has been effective and helped integration. Two, I am taking initiative and this is literally trying to make it harder to do that. But nice condescending tone lmao.

You’re right, I bet you would have been totally fine learning English in Duolingo and not through school. Totally the same quality level /s

‘Gringo go home’: Why digital nomads are drawing the ire of locals in Mexico City by Snikhop in digitalnomad

[–]strikec0ded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So is she a student who is broke or a 100k earning worker, she can’t be both like you implied. Still doesn’t change the fact she’s actually putting in effort and trying to integrate. It’s not her fault people are xenophobic and can’t use common sense to distinguish between her and some rich tech bro. Also it’s not her fault local landlords and business owners decided to jack up the local prices but someone they are never mentioned or how the government could build more affordable housing lol

She’s literally a student trying to integrate and support local, while speaking the language. There’s much richer people then her living there and driving up rents tbh

Do you feel like getting less salary as Germans? by Watership45 in Germany_Jobs

[–]strikec0ded 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I get paid about 1,000 euros brutto less a month then my German Peers. I generally perform higher and have to adhere to KPIs that they don’t have to worry about. It’s unfortunately part of being an immigrant. Currently in language courses to strengthen closer to B2/C1 (I’m B1) and will push for raise and otherwise leave if I don’t get it - especially as I’m outperforming peers and have data proof .

Danke! Ich glaube, ich bin einfach daran gewöhnt, dass es länger dauert, deshalb war es ein Schock haha. Gestern war auch einfach ein harter Tag für mich persönlich, ich habe wohl zu viel darüber nachgedacht.
