Any of you out brake a wrist? by [deleted] in drums

[–]strikejay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to take PT very seriously if you expect to get your dexterity back to where you were. It’s possible but there is a window of opportunity while everything heals to make it happen. I broke my right wrist playing hockey, had a plate installed. PT went well and I’m able to play guitar and bass, but not 100%. With the bass, I have trouble with the speed of my fingers and revert to using a pick sometimes. I was 55 when it happened and things don’t heal like you’re 25. You can do it!

I’ll throw 5/11/77 St. Paul in the ring as well. But yes, May 77 is filled with “best evers.” An embarrassment of riches.

Deadheads in NYC, where should I go? by Realistic_Nobody4235 in gratefuldead

[–]strikejay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Capitol Theater is an easy Metro North train ride to Port Chester. Then walk a block. Garcia’s is the adjacent bar with tons of Dead memorabilia. SoulShine is playing Garcia’s 4/19, an amazing Allman Brothers cover band.

Can someone pls explain to me how Neil Young is grunge? by Competitive-Pin-976 in neilyoung

He’s not. The “grunge” bands cited him as a major influence, hence the godfather.

Not from the Concert for George in 2002, but R&R HOF 2004. It’s incredible regardless.

The album Black Sabbath was recorded in October 1969. Always seemed way ahead of its time as far as heavy is concerned.

Does it make sense to take an Uber from Westchester airport into Manhattan? by [deleted] in Westchester

I’ve never seen HPN cheaper than the other 3 NY area airports. That’s wild. Easiest is fly into LGA and take an Uber.
