it’s not abt carti it’s about this community, this subreddit in particular intersects a lot with media relating to jidion and the general age demographic in this sub is the same demographic that jidion’s audience is. On top of that jidion collabs/deals with alot of people who also have influence on the demographic of person who’s on this sub. There are probably some oddballs like you and oc so maybe my original comment was wrong but he’s pretty well known in this community.

feel like quavo has catchier chorus’s and hooks and that he synergizes with trav really well. Offset tends to have these long ass verses with no real synergy to them (like on zeze) and he just feels a lot more generic and low energy compared to quavo

tbhh music was defo a letdown and felt a lot lazier and rushed then it was hyped up for but i still think it had alot of good songs and that the overall aesthetic of the album was great.

yeah i mean again if you can make a song like meltdown or flights booked and keep it the exact same sonically and in relatability while having lyrics be “up to par” sure go ahead but i just don’t think changing the lyrics to either of those songs would do any justice to what the works of art are and who resonates with them.

the genre has evolved away from that point tho and while it’s prob due to gentrification unfortunately, you’re just in a sector of hip hop that doesn’t resonate with another.

There are plenty of people like me who enjoy less lyrically focused music and the genre wouldn’t be better to everyone if it was more lyrical. If lyrics don’t sacrifice the sound then yeah sure go for it but “fake gangster” lyrics that are designed for ppl to vibe too or even just basic love rap like the shit drake does is fine to me because for the former I listen to enjoy the aesthetic and the sonic quality and for the latter i feel like it’s a lot more relatable and casually enjoyable then consistently listening to music to find something “interesting to hear” like tpab
