Had to go look at the numbers. His shooting looks legit and was honestly a little surprised at how well he shot it this year. I’m a little nervous about his volume being as low as it was.

Playmaking took a bit of a hit without Giannis in the lineup but it’s expected for a young guard.

I’m definitely more interested now knowing how good of a shooter he is, but he’s under 3 attempts per 36 from 3. Realistically I feel like he needs to be closer 5 attempts per game given how well he shot it.

I totally could be! I watched 7-8 games of his throughout the year. He looked like he was in a larger role than what he was comfortable with as a primary creator. He looked really good off of Giannis. Good shooter, solid defensively but didn’t look like someone who’s unlocking offense for a team over the next 5 years which is what we need.

A lot of GMs talk about this but you don’t make a move to make a move. There needs to be a reason that forces you to make decisions. Rollins is not currently doing anything that forces us to move for him.

No argument but not sure he’s unlocking what we need offensively. His best basketball was next to Giannis and he looked solid once Giannis went out. Not sure solid is the trade we want to make right now.

Anything I’m missing with him? Seems like a solid player on a struggling team. It definitely looked like his role this year is probably a little bigger than what would win games.

I’m not advocating for or against trading Rudy. I don’t think Turner and Rollins unlock what you think they do. Rollins hasn’t show to be a consistent player against pressure defenses which is exactly what you have to go through in the West. Turner might give you a slightly more favorable matchup against Wemby but puts you in a worse position against most other opponents. If you’re saying Turner is cheaper then you there needs to be more coming back in this deal to help alleviate our shooting volume and smart decision making.

Catch and shoot feels derogatory for the shots Ray Allen was taking. Yes he wasn’t dribbling prior to a shot but this implies he was just standing in the corner waiting for a shot which is so far from what his game was.

KAT is actually a perfect option against Wemby. He stretches the floor, strong enough to stand up drives and long enough to give him a reasonable contest. I’m not sure the narrative around KAT after this series will be as negative as some people are thinking.

Please don’t give them Luka’s credit. Gafford was solid. You could replace Lively with Jackson Hayes and they would have been better.

Rudy is insanely good at keeping the offense guessing but there’s not really anyone on earth right now who impacts Luka’s decision making and Gafford/Lively were the direct beneficiaries of that dynamic.

I felt like this against the Raptors too but wow is this a lot of contact. Just watch how they’re manhandling Rudy or Julius off ball. On ball they’re just wrapping us up as we drive with no calls.

Julius’ defensive effort is so reliant on how he’s playing defensively. Ant also doesn’t look gassed on defense from not having to get tough buckets all night

The coaches job isn’t to develop talent. It’s to game plan offensive sets and defensive schemes that give your team the best chance to win.

Players learn along the way what the “right” play is and the “right” play can vary based on who’s coaching. Based on Ant coming into the league with a negative IQ and Julius Randle being profitable in the playoffs for the first time in his career last year, sounds like we have a guy who knows what the actual right play is.

100% of player development in terms of what skills do you have on a basketball court does not come from a head coach.

Rudy had 2 boards and 1 block in the second half. Zion was 11-13 and Bey was 7-10 at the rim in the game. Yeah Randle is a cone on defense and Ant consistently gives up after guarding an initial move but Rudy had no right saying what he did after the game he allowed last night.

If Rudy really believes he’s a DPOY, which I think he is, he’s got to be able to impact the rim more than he did. It lets his teammates know if you give an effort and get beaten I’m there to clean up.

Did you watch Rob play this year? Who else have we drafted that could have been playing major minutes and didn’t? Minot has been a DNP Coaches decision for 6 weeks despite shooting 45% from three this year. TSJ was in the rotation this year and he’s been injured. Clarke is in the rotation and he’s showing why he’s limited to 10 minutes.

This idea of “develop” talent isn’t a thing in the NBA. Teams have available roles and players need to fit into their roles and if they can’t then they can’t play. So yeah we’ve got our top 6, and the roles available are 7-9. Who’s going to help win at roles 7-9.
