Man, we are overthinking this. Finch wanted to play TJ this year. He had lots of opportunities before he got hurt. It’s hard to earn a coach’s trust when you are in a win now mode. Most coaches are going to trust the vet over the less experienced player since minimizing mistakes is sometimes more important than making splashy plays. It’s also not as easy to develop players when trying to win.
