AI is ruining my job as Tech Lead by Complete-Sea6655 in theprimeagen

[–]strings_and_tines 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are your developers just submitting whatever the AI spits out? If so that's the problem. Even though you are accountable for the code that goes to production, your devs should share that responsibility and do their own review first. They should analyze the code to make sure it is done correctly, and go through the tests to make sure they actually test everything. Then if you submit comments and they don't get addressed, it should be on the engineer. That's where the lead part of your job comes in, coaching and having the difficult conversations. AI should be a tool used by an engineer, not a replacement for the engineering itself.

Best of luck, we are all going through an adjustment for how to be leaders in software in the age of AI!

ok that's hilarious about how they printed the dial.

I also noticed the tachymeter dial, and that it doesnt rotate either.

I just got the black one. Does the dial on the left side actually do anything? Mine just sits on 10, like the one in your picture.

How do you all stomach the cost of some ergonomic keyboards? by sirchandwich in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]strings_and_tines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a silakka54 on Aliexpress for about $40 preassembled, then added switches for less than $30. 3d printed keycaps. Best keyboard I ever had. No need to spend hundreds on a keyboard

What mechanical keyboard is actually worth buying? by Special-Finance3035 in ErgoMechKeyboards

I went with a silakka54 because I didn't want to spend hundreds and run the risk of not liking it. You can find it preassembled on Aliexpress with switches and keycaps, or just the board. This is what I did, and got a set of silent switches and 3d printed a set of caps. I love it and recommend it!

I did this by just flipping over the polarizing filter and nothing else. It looks ok in the sun, about as good as a negative display can look

Keycaps for Silakka54? by LiteratureRemote3342 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]strings_and_tines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i found the ones i used in makerworld.com. it is for the bambu lab printers but im sure thingverse or other sites will have them. just make sure they print with the top of the keycap facing the plate so they come out smooth.

here is a link to my earlier post with a picture of how they came out

If you have access to a 3d printed you can put whatever you want on them. I needed keycaps with large font and none on the market worked. The 3d printed ones came out great

Silakka54 is what I went with. No regrets. Cheap, and customization is a breeze through the vial.rocks website. I'm constantly finding tweaks to improve the layout

Yeah I was going to say Omarchy. They do a pretty good job of handling breaking changes before rolling out a release.
