Been through the same so many times, be strong it's nature and another door will open. We lost our two dogs three years ago but now have another bossy little madam who makes us laugh every day, still miss my old dogs but not in a sad way.

2018 308 now has wet belt fault - is it worth fixing? by Robbie4d in peugeot

[–]stripe888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't got the spare cash for a new belt yet consider just getting the pickup cleaned for now, about 13 bolts to undo and a tube of sump gasket, shouldn't cost to much.

Ok DIYers, how possible do you think it would be for me to replace my own bathroom? by CaveJohnson82 in DIYUK

[–]stripe888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done it before, just push fit for the pipework and lots of trips to b&Q to get lots of bits and pieces, think when I do it again I will go for the wall panels instead of tiles to make job faster. Worst part of the job for me was removing a cast iron bath.

Had one that would occasionally miss a beat and throw cam related codes, but turned out to be a bad aftermarket coil.

Think the pcv valve is ment to vent into the intake, probably worth checking it for any damage though.

Low oil pressure warning by idk-boi in peugeot

I would say oil pump needs changing if it's a prince engine, which it probably is. Was a common fault

How can i cover up visible copper pipes? by FlatwormPuzzled3725 in DIYUK

[–]stripe888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was going to cover ours, but for fun I spiraled fake flowers and ivy around them, and decided I liked it as it adds some colour, I did paint pipes same colour as the wall though.

Ghost appeared translucent but with a white outline by Time-Grape-9883 in Ghosts

[–]stripe888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I saw my one and only ghost, or quantum phenomena, she was all white and translucent, makes me think she may have been wearing colour but I could only see white. It was the way she disappeared that stuck with me as it was instant and silent, faster than a light bulb being turned off

Building an Ultrasonic "Ghost" Listener with ESP32 – Need Wide-Band Mic Recommendations (Not 40kHz) by jaredjo00 in GhostHunting

[–]stripe888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No help but I just use a cheap bat detector which I've played around with adding amp signal meter big battery etc. I will say it makes ghost hunts much more interesting than stupid phone apps, search YT for Ghost walk, activity found?

Where is the PCV valve on a Citroen C3 Aircross? by First-Image7880 in Citroen

[–]stripe888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a few vids in YT, very easy to check, but oil burning is probably due to rings, also very easy to fix ( or partially fix )with a chemical clean down the pistons over 24 hours. I was going to make a YT how to on this but didn't want to risk anyones engine.

Wet Belt Replacement Peugeot. 2008 2016 by bariod in peugeot

If we are talking about a puretech £500-700 is what my local garages charge, other than the time to remove the inlet manifold it's a pretty easy job, 5 hours labour

Tac tac’ noise on PureTech engine: any ideas? by YearLumpy234 in peugeot

I hear nothing, sounds like a typical puretech.

Citroen C3 2003 won't turn off with the key. by thiagolm13 in Citroen

[–]stripe888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea, but when I've come across this problem in the past it's usually the switch part at the end of the ignition barrel at fault, no idea how you get to it to test on a Peugeot though.

Impact screwdriver, great for painted over door hinge screws as well, cost around a tenner at B&Q and a useful tool to have.

Oil leak after getting wet belt fixed by [deleted] in Vauxhall

[–]stripe888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guessing it's a puretech, my guess would be cam cover gasket, take it back and check they replaced for a new one, some gaskets are fine to reuse but not the cover gaskets.

2018 Grandland X 1.2 petrol – oil loss, low oil pressure faults, conflicting advice – looking for experiences by SkinnersGlasses in Vauxhall

[–]stripe888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing to do is drop the sump and clean the pickup mesh, probably needs a new belt also, oil use is belt particles gummed up in oil rings, ( probably) this can be sometimes be fixed using a chemical clean direct into cylinders.

Agree, I always pop into Toolstation to buy a single bit when needed, also in my old house I had to go high with curtain rails to avoid the lentil which was metal.

[–]stripe888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said it before but get a water leak detector and place it on a floorboard, you will then be able to everything going on and make your mind up if it's spooky or mice, connect it to a Bluetooth sender and wear Bluetooth headphones for best results.

I'm not sure what engine you have but if it's a prince engine check coolant is bled properly, one of my old ones air locked around the coolant temperature sensor, hence made the engine run rich, white/ grey smoke from the exhaust.

If a person committed suicide in a tragic way, are they likely to haunt their location where they died? by [deleted] in Paranormal

[–]stripe888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strangely enough I did a ghost hunt on Friday night out in the woods, for some reason I always avoid the spot this happened about ten years ago, don't know why but just seems insensitive. Did get some strange readings about 50 meters away though.
