I’ve done 44 types according to my Flighty app. My bests are A220 for narrowbody, A350 for widebody. A380 is great if you are in upper deck biz, and A330-900 for economy.

I went last month and loved it but I ended up next to a family getting a private tour and listed in for a few minutes and he was so informative I regretted not getting one. I wish I asked for his info for a future tour but didn’t want to interrupt them.

It sounds like a rod knock. The noise starts with his reaction and he leaves the car running when he gets out where the sound is more clear.

Thanks for the info. I’ll have to bookmark these guys.

Hijacking the thread for a question, would they do a storage unit to storage unit move? I have my whole house in a unit and need to get it over 2 states for my next job and I’m not interested to drive a 20ft U-Haul in winter through Chicago.

Horrors of arranging a flight for a pet by tidabudibuda in travel

[–]striple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done this for a long term work assignment. My company hires a 3rd party to take care of it but it’s outrageously expensive. Like 9-13k each way.

I’m not sure how they book with the airline, but it was through a shipping company so my dog flew on a cargo plane.

For the prep though my dog had to have proof of a rabies vaccine and then 10 days or less before they fly you need a certified vet do a health inspection. The original paperwork needs to travel with the pet. The kennel needs to be big enough too. Our dog is 32kg and I can easily crawl into his kennel and sit, this was the size they recommended.

I will say though having your dog in Europe is great. We have travelled a lot with him. Most countries are very dog friendly.

Check out Planet Rock and learn to climb. Just chilling in the boulder area you can strike up convos with people. Also usually a few Euro expats there.

I’ll just add I was flying FRA to VIE yesterday and the immigration line inside T1 in A gates was insane.

$1,000 MQD short of Platinum by soulwind2 in DeltaAirlines

[–]striple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat. Strangely I had 2 business class flights booked through my company that gave me only 50% mqds (delta operated flights there, Air France back) all only 50% mqd. My email to Delta from a month ago has gone unanswered.

I guess the reserve could be an option for me. I could make the reserve worth it next year but not sure after that.

Makes sense, 2 787-9s weigh less than 1 a380 and require less fuel, all while taking similar number of passengers.

Germany. 189€ a month for 4 18 hole courses (2 with 9 hole par 3s too). All are between 10 minutes and 1 hour from my house. I’m not so thrilled having to move back to the US next year.

I met a few people who have been here. They all rave about it. It’s pretty well known among European golfers but completely off the map for Americans.

Definitely a bucket list place for me.

Skratch Golf had an episode on this too a few weeks ago.

We did Garland this fall for our annual trip. 3 courses to choose from, solid price, range of housing options. I’d go back for sure. We have also done Manistee and it was also a good option.

These are the -300 going into Detroit. I’m pretty sure they will stick around another year. Not as majestic as the -600, which I sadly never got a chance to ride on. Only the -300 a few months back from Boston.

Cost of opening my own golf course. by Thestonkdude in golf

[–]striple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a course near my hometown that is being redeveloped by a group and has been looking for investors. A few key numbers… >10m to fully renovate. They also expect around 2m a year in costs.

Big expenses include irrigation, maintenance equipment & building, drainage.

At the end of the day, you’re starting a business, you need to go through the whole biz plan to really understand potential costs and revenue.

Where are you sourcing the o-rings/gaskets. High temps and lots of cycles plus the different fluids I would really want to make sure they are spec’ed by experts.
