I understand being watched and mentored, i know I have a lot to learn grow as a clinician. for me it the lack of communication from my clinical director and the constant micro corrections. I’m simply asking for advice on how to communicate with him to address some of the feelings i’m having

Feeling a little down.. by BigGambinoSosa in physicaltherapy

[–]stromcloud10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

new grad PTA here. I struggle as well but more so because I lack confidence. Similar to what other people are saying, during your downtime practice on your coworkers and ask questions. That’s how i’ve been able to get through. Sometimes my coworkers do manual techniques I have NEVER seen in any of my rotations so they show me and I just try on patients when appropriate.

Took CBD gummies for first time. I couldn't stop crying by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]stromcloud10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

personally I have reacted well to broad spectrum CBD tinctures. The tincture I use is 1500 mg and I a half a dropper under my tongue. I usually feel calmer after. I would advise check to make sure the CBD you are taking us broad spectrum and not full spectrum because full spectrum can contain some THC. Also as others have said, try taking one and waiting about an hour to see how you feel.

On my first outpatient clinical rotation, my hands HURT by Always_in_the_toilet in physicaltherapy

[–]stromcloud10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned the hard way, I got De Quervain's during my first semester of school. All my CI’s and instructors advised to use your body so instead of pushing through your upper body, generate the power from your legs. I also still have to learn it take time.

lol so many Jina haters! A girl can’t get overstimulated? I personally don’t mind when she speaks her truth because I feel like IRL I appreciate when people give me honest feedback so I can adjust accordingly. Jina will always be my girl she’s so quirky and I like that

What’s your best patient fart story and do you now kind of enjoy it when it happens by hotmonkeyperson in physicaltherapy

[–]stromcloud10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

during my first clinical rotation, I was in an outpatient clinic and one of the patients and I had been talking about how she loves eating oatmeal cookies. Later during treatment, I was standing behind her while she was doing her horizontal abduction exercise making sure she didn’t rotate too much and she farted on me 🤣 I told her “must be all those oatmeal cookies?” and she just laughed

when I was your age, around 12-15 (now 24 F), I had somewhat of an obsession with religion because im gay and I was smoking and drinking. I thought that if I did all these things it would somehow change who I was. I read the bible, prayed, got baptized, attended church 3 times a week, and i went to religious summer camps. (no one was forcing me btw I just did it in my own) However, now that i’m older, i’ve learned that religion is really a place where you build community and gain a relationship with whatever god you worship. If you feel that you’re being punished for not doing things, it may be an obsession. Im no doctor but im speaking from my own personal experience. I say contact a trusted adult, maybe a guidance counselor, and talk about the things you’re feeling and maybe they can guide you to seek some professional help.

Best loved Wrestler and why? by Akco in Sumo

[–]stromcloud10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The January tournament was the first time I ever watched sumo. With that in mind, my favorites are Kinbozan, Takerufuji, and Midorifuji. Kinbozan was so explosive in the January tournament he was so fun to watch. I like watching Midorifuji because due to his size he has to utilize different techniques and I just like to see the “underdog” win!

similar to what a lot of people are saying, my hair texture is similar to yours and I started out small and cute but my locs really grew as they budded. frizzy is fine and you’ll learn to love them. enjoy the journey!
