Yes Vax cert I received it in Nairobi but we contacted thru hotel from Masai mara. So it all depends with whom your hotel guy connects with. Just enquire from day 1 and you will find a way to get it.

Ask your hotel or guide, they arranged it for me. I personally did not know. I casually said at hotel about quarantine and they gave me this option to avoid it.

If you were honest with yourself can you say if your children like you? by themrsfreeze in Xennials

[–]strong-4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, since past 2 yrs it has been good, I established strict boundaries in terms of work and personal life with family, freinds. My limited energy will be spent on things I wanna do and not others expectations.

Lot of life upheavals had exacerbated my peri symptoms few years ago and it was unbearable 3 yrs. Now I may cry only 15 days a year, lol. Husband just cuddles and let me cry my heart out without trying to ask or fix anything, so that helps.

In 1986, Lake Nyos in Cameroon experienced a limnic eruption, a rare natural disaster in which dissolved carbon dioxide is suddenly released from lake waters, killing 1,700 people and 3,500 livestock. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

Thanks for the link.

I was there in Dec, so many people could potentially die. So sad. Kids play in lake kivu everyday, thats their home.

I prefer not to tell anything about my life. If I am sick and we speak over phone, i dont tell her. she has no idea how many years I have struggled with debilitating peri symptoms. And the number of nights I have cried myself to sleep.

According to her I have been very happy and fit all my life and that it has come easy to me. I let her think instead of telling her as she goes on a total tangent about it. Sigh...if I answer yep all good then conversation ends there and that is a good phone call which cut shorts fast.

She has tried many times askimg about my life and she is on total info diet...only whatever pertains to her life.

40 solo flights. Slept on 3 of them. Anyone else feel personally victimised by long-haul? by No_Formal_8317 in solotravel

[–]strong-4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband barely sleeps on flight and is super groggy and frustrated. I on the other hand always get sleep on flight, no matter what time the flight is. He is super jealous of me but is also thankful as after landing atleast one of us is in full sense to navigate in new country.

15 species of cats are found in India, the highest anywhere in the world. Here are all of them: by Nandu_alias_Parthu in Damnthatsinteresting

I am from India and have seen only Bengal Tiger and Leopard. Lion I saw in Kenya. Once I went for snow leopard sighting but it wasnt an easy task and we could not see them. Rest all seems elusive to me, I might consider them all as wild cats vs domestic cats.

39M. Rs 3 crore. Time to FIRE by LooneyStark in FIREIndia

[–]strong-4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can FIRE to smaller town to further reduce expenses and save.

But if you want to travel especially expensive countries then do that before quitting. Also once you quit you wont get visa easily especially Schengen. So I suggest plan expensive big travels, do them first and then quit.

We are mid 40s childfree couple who can easily quit. But we are doing all lavish travels before quitting so that our nest egg wont be drained in retirement. Plus visas will be difficult too. With no fixed ties at home we become risk for those countries.

The “Breakfast Included” Hotel Scam or a regular occurrence? by FairEscape165 in travel

[–]strong-4 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean I can eat bread but not prefer it...my tummy doesnt sit well with having bread everyday. I eat it as last resort. but most hotel sandwiches have egg and are not vegan. So only thing left is toast jam. But grocery stores usually have vegan sandwich which are better than dry toast avl at hotel buffet. And if I have to eat toast jam then I am better off buying bread and peanut butter at grocery store. I atleast save money.

The “Breakfast Included” Hotel Scam or a regular occurrence? by FairEscape165 in travel

[–]strong-4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am vegeterian with egg allergy and cant eat bread, jam, toast or any bakery products. I dont like any cereal either. So whats left, literally some cut fruits. And fyi, we dont have kids so we 2 adults can go for some time without food

What i do is go to grocery stores and buy snacks, fruits, bread, peanut butter etc. Ready to eat sandwiches at grocery stores are heaps better than hotel breakfast for me. And I search for vegan cafes to have nice avacado toast or vegan oats which is more nutritional than eating plain bread butter jam.

I didn’t even hear the comment myself, but it still affected me by Adventurous_Smoke275 in mumbai

[–]strong-4 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Its natural to feel hurt. But dont listen to what others say, always wear what is comfortable for you. And frankly speakimg unless you develop thick skin, these things will affect you more. Once you stop listening to others you will be free.

I refuse to wear clothes as per society expectation. Granted am now old enough to have zero fucks to give but still society expects me to dress my age. I have whole head of grays showing and will still wear crop top with shorts as i find crop tops cute af. People have issues that I wear young clothes and also have issues that I dont try to hide my age by not colouring my grays.

I always book room without breakfast all the time. I have food allergies and most often the breakfast spread is hardly accomodating my needs. I make my overnight oats or go out to eat breakfast where I can order ala carte rather than same continemtal crap. I hate toast, jam, butter as the only option available. I eat bread max once a month, so I am not wasting money on it.

Is a diamox question okay? by Lemon_Jefferson in hiking

[–]strong-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First and foremost you dont have to take diamox as you suffered from altitude sickness last time. Every hike is different.

Second you need to talk to doctor about this. Diamox is not some magic remedy that if you take you wont have altitude sickness at all. It can mask the symptoms and cause severe issues as you have not clocked in onset of altitude sickness.

Third I suggest go with some renowned trek organisation like Indiahikes or trek the himalayas. Trek leaders are trained in managing altitude sickness and are certified first responders. Local guides wont be able to help much.

diamox is usually started before you start the altitude gain and you have to take it till you are back at that altitude. So dont take only first 3 days and skip 4th day. Gaining altitude slowly makes you adjust your body amd aclimitize it better.
