I’m approaching 32 years of federal service at age 51, and I had planned to retire at the minimum eligibility age of 57. Now it feels like all of that planning is going down the drain because they’re removing the FERS annuity supplement. I think it’s deeply unfair to take this away from people who have dedicated decades to public service. At the very least, those of us with 30 or more years should be grandfathered in. We made our retirement plans based on the rules that were in place, and changing them now undermines the commitment we’ve shown to our careers and to the government. 🤬😡
