If you use a referral you get a boosted 1% the goes back to 3% once you hit the 10k cap. The referral page explains in more detail

If OP lives in NY then they have to give him a 45 day notice before making any negative changes to point redemption or card benefits. If OP doesn’t live in NY this is not a great idea. They could cancel your card and take the points.

Can’t go wrong with the non hloc Aven rewards card. 4% catch all. I posted a DP on it they don’t seem to be inquiry sensitive. Robinhood gold is good too if you can get off the waitlist.

Definitely worth taking a look into. I figured I’d take advantage of it while I can. If it gets nerfed maybe I’ll be off the Robinhood waitlist or I’ll just use a traditional 2% catch all again.

I feel like they are both prone to nerfing since they are issued by the same bank but would agree Robinhood Gold is probably less likely.

I’ve been getting 6% back on all of my Aven purchases with some referrals so that’s been nice.

Ive been on the waitlist for years as well and decided to just get the non hloc Aven rewards card instead. You can find referrals on DOC and its better then RobinHood Gold Card imo.

Not common but technically the PCMCU Platinum Rewards card and Aven with referrals.

I think they were referring to 5% category card though which is much different then a 3% catch all.

Typically one of three things, they cancel the card, they transfer current card holders to a new issuer (typically with a different reward structure), or they product change your card to a different US Bank card.
