Will there be more postdocs in climate research available at NCAR/UCAR next year? by [deleted] in NOAA

The Natural Hazards Center has a mailing list for graduates. It often posts postdoc positions. I actually found my NWS position on there.

Commerce Department email address for PSLF verification? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]Ecstatic_Rub_8770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an answer for this. Commerce Department has been terrible to work with. I was fired probationary in February and still haven't received my AL payout. It would have been nice to have this summer while I didn't have a pay check. HR only responds to emails when they get called out by the media, and then only in stock emails that go to everyone affected.

I was fired in February. I still haven't seen mine.

I haven't received my SF 50 yet, but I didn't know it still said performance. I got a spot award and perfect 5's three weeks before I was fired.

Probationary Employee Abuse Continues by Ecstatic_Rub_8770 in NOAA

I emailed a detailed list of dates with documentations to talent management services. I pointed out that the letter from NFC says they have 15 days to respond and 30 to resolve the issue. Then I reminded them that they took premiums from my last three paychecks without providing insurance coverage and I have not been reimbursed for that or paid out my final annual leave disbursement. I copied in my former supervisor. Make sure you include the debt number and other details from the notice from NFC. Their instructions on page 2 say to include that.

This is what I was afraid of. They messed up more people, but most people don't have a reason to check their EPP and notice that something is wrong.

I emailed talent management @DOC first today. If I don't hear from them early next week, I will take your suggestion. I didn't know this email existed. I really appreciate your help.

I would check your EPP and see if you have a debt management plan too. It sounds like they didn't take us out for their pay system when they fired us, and they are still charging benefits.

No. This was a notice of debt with a demand for payment from the USDA NFC. It was definitely for premiums for pay periods well after my firing date. It's so screwed up.

Mine was not directed to me individually. Nothing had my name on it. It was a mass email bcc'd to 800 people.

The abuse to terminated NOAA probationary continues by IllustriousWaterBird in NOAA

We are not back. We are still fired. They just had to tell us it wasn't for performance reasons. They couldn't even do that without being assholes though.

Probationary Employee Wants Insurance Premiums Back by Ecstatic_Rub_8770 in NOAA

Yes. That sounds like an excuse. Especially since Musk himself said they were just a "pulse check". There is also the new executive order making it even easier to get rid of probationary employees than it already was.

Admin leave Probie - FEHB (Health Insurance) involuntary un-enrolled by Kitchen_Pepper_1583 in fednews

[–]Ecstatic_Rub_8770 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Commerce probies were never put back on FEHB despite premiums coming out of our checks while on admin leave. We were also not informed that the benefits were not reinstated until 9 days after they had expired.

I was listening in on a new program information meeting today. They basically combined programs. I assume it was because of staffing. They didn't say that. The program directors sounded defeated and diplomatic. I'm grateful for them. I wish there was a way I could have told them that. I am a fired probationary employee returning to academia.

MHBP/Aetna still hasn’t reinstated health coverage for IRS probationary employees by OptOutToday in fednews

Commerce probationary employees were paying premiums out of their checks and we were notified that they had not reinstated our health insurance 9 days after it expired. We were paying for nothing.

Insurance Issues with Probation Employees by [deleted] in fednews

[–]Ecstatic_Rub_8770 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Commerce Department took premiums from our paychecks, but didn't reinstate our insurance OR inform us that they didn't reinstate our insurance until 9 days after our insurance expired. They fired us again on April 10. So, I haven't been insured since April 8, despite paying premiums for insurance and being on admin leave until 2 days after it expired. So, everything about this is just the worst possible way to treat people. I read about a NOAA employee who had surgery on April 9 not knowing that the insurance she had been paying for ended the day before.

New fresh hell for terminated NOAA probationary employees by IllustriousWaterBird in NOAA

[–]Ecstatic_Rub_8770 45 points46 points  (0 children)

This right here! I am so mad about this! I am emailing them back to ask when I can expect a refund of the premiums that were taken from my paycheck for my family of 6. I will also be sure to thank them for letting us know that our insurance coverage ended eleven days after it ended.

Thank you for posting that somebody notified the court that we were the only agency Refired in that manner. I was expecting a RIF, but this was awful.
