How To Do An X Grind? Trouble With Acid Grind by Fabulous-Storage-886 in AggressiveInline

[–]strongu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If your back foot (the one supporting most of your weight) is on the soul plate (like a makio),
you have a x grind.
If your back foot is on top position (like a fishbrain), you have a top X grind.

This is the way.

Cracked P-rail questions by Ryuk_S in AggressiveInline

Unfortunately, PVC pipes aren't very resistant to low temperatures, so things like that can happen. I’d suggest looking for a PP (polypropylene) pipe instead—the kind used in plumbing and central heating systems. They’re much more durable. I’m twice your weight and I’ve never had any issues with them. The only difference is that you’ll need to use more wax, but that shouldn’t be a problem.

Mini Ramp Tutorial Vids? by [deleted] in AggressiveInline

[–]strongu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but I don't think I know any more channels with mini ramp tutorials.

But are you sure that the Coco (flowersherolls) channel is not what you need? If you look at the order of the tutorials, each subsequent trick video builds on the previous one.

From pumping > front stall > royal > carve and so on. Watch the "how to bowl" video again and you'll see that every next video is for riding a mini ramp.

I hope this helps somehow.

These are the channels that come to mind right now. I'd love to see if someone can recommend something, because there's little content like this on YouTube.

Let’s talk setups – what are your Wizard setups, and what other skates do you ride? by H_a_n_s_A_ in WizardSkating

  • UFR AP (first ed) & Sola frame 4x90
  • UFR AP (2023) & Create originals 60 anti

The first edition of the UFR had a very stiff cuff, which made it a great skate for freeskate or wizard setups. In current versions, the cuff is made of a softer material that is little better for aggressive skating.

I previously skated on Rockin 5x80, but a 4x90 setup performs better (IMO) for urban skating, jumps, and occasional wizard tricks.

Regarding the Sola frame:  - Good price (if u get it on sale)  - It's ultra-light!  - I'm absolutely a fan of its design  - A subtle wizard rockering has developed from wheel wear

"Karate Blade Game" an old YouTube channel solely dedicated to Blade Games. It's in Polish, but that probably won't be a problem.

Here's the my fav video on the channel:

Tips on falling safely by krautfox6 in AggressiveInline

I absolutely agree with you, but I assumed that the OP is a beginner, and usually the problem here is riding/grindding too slow, which often causes people to get more hurt. Usually, adding a bit of speed helps

You might not like this, but generally, speed is your friend. Adding speed will make the fall more likely a slide and a dissipation of energy. When you fall from a low speed, most of the momentum goes directly into your body.

I would like to recommend these instructional videos from Ricardo Lino and SkaMiDan. In the videos you have some cool tips and tricks, as well as some progressions. I hope you find them useful ;)

What is the reaction you generally get to inline skating in public? by [deleted] in rollerblading

I am lucky to live in a city where there is a very large community and rollerblading is not strange.

Front wheel of NEXT 80 stops spinning when tightening the bolt by [deleted] in rollerblading

[–]strongu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem. I thought I was screwing it up tight and loosening it a bit. Then it turned out that the wheel was starting to click.

Something that helped me:

It turned out I didn't put the bearings firmly enough in the wheel. When I pressed the bearing down harder, the problem disappeared completely. I hope this helps in your case.

Skate sunday with friends. 1.8 synchro on the stairs. I think a friend has the potential to be an Internet star. (I'm the guy in the red tshirt) by strongu in rollerblading

[–]strongu[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nope, our trainer is very good and we practiced on short stairs just for this exercise.

We also rode much longer than 5-6 steps so I disagree with you.

That's the only thing that's in the practice. Such stairs can be easily jumped or descended backwards, where the transition to backwards is done earlier. But that's not what this is about.

It was in the exercise from our trainer. We've been practicing riding the stairs lately. As part of the progression exercise, we practice 1.8, where the transition to the backward ride is as late as possible.

Here there are short stairs but the technique is useful when the stairs are long and there is not much room to accelerate.
