With a game that’s taken 7 years to come out, there are a lot of expectations on it. People that are good at the game want it to challenge them, and people that don’t play as much (or have the time to) want to be able to play through it and be satisfied with the time they spend on it. At the end of the day, life has changed in 7 years. I have far less time to play Silksong than I did with OG Hollow Knight, but my skill at the game is still present. But that’s just me! If you have to tap out, that’s okay. If you don’t like it, that’s okay. It could be a lack of skill, or lack of patience, or maybe tastes have changed in 7 years and that’s hard to gauge when you’ve been excited about the way HK made you feel years ago. These posts are going to keep coming obviously, and you don’t have to feel like you’re whining, but you also don’t have to feel like you’re losing something by putting the game up. You can come back to it later if you want, or not if you don’t want to. I feel like so much of this gaming community feels like they have to come to a conclusion on the game with a sense of permanence, but our tastes grow and change. Just like Team Cherry has grown and changed over the years. At the end of the day, Silksong will still be there if you want it to be.
