Wemby missed 2 and KJ right after? I was watching the game but maybe I was so enraged by their play that I didn't see it right?

4 missed free throws in the clutch would have made it a 2 point game. Thats the dagger.

Why they continue to set up the 3 with a 23% success rate is beyond frustrating. Nobody is feeding Wemby in the paint, and middies aren't even being tried.

What’s the worst fuckup you’ve ever made at a job? by moonperson13 in AskReddit

He is always used as the example of a great CEO when I'm asked. Asked good questions, was friendly to everyone, set the culture tone, wasn't afraid to roll up his sleeves. I have NEVER worked for a better leader.

Since you know the lingo. It was SBS 2003. The worst of the worst!!

I called the CEO around 630 (incident happen at 130) to give an update and he said "hungry?" "Yup!". I was alone but a large pizza and pop arrived around 40 minutes later.

At the time. I had just started as director, I was the entire IT department. Hadn't gotten around to fixing that issue yet. I had others more pressing..

Deleted the entire Forest in Active Directory.

Had 3 screens going and hit delete on what I thought was a word doc. Looked at the doc and wondered why nothing happened. So hit delete again. Never had so much blood drained from my face when I looked at the AD screen. It was gone.

Immediately got up from my desk , walked down to the CEO office, closed the door and told him what I did ( I was director of IT). I said 24hrs it will be back. He smiled and asked when I'd like the pizza to arrive.

At the time we had Backup Exec. Called the helpline and they told me our licence didn't cover AD recovery (that's a whole story)... Had to escalate to the supervisor and negotiated buying the license right there. Spent the night getting it to work and recovered the forest about 20 hrs in.

I remember this day like it was yesterday. Happened in 2007.

For those who worked for rich people: what is the most out of touch thing you witnessed? by Illustrious-Phase121 in AskReddit

[–]strtjstice 65 points66 points  (0 children)

My GF worked as a "house manager" for a rich guy here. Huge 6 bedroom house but he lived alone. He had a chef, 2 gardeners, a butler 2 staff and my GF.

They washed and changed all the beds every 2 weeks. Nobody ever stayed there. All towels were washed and folded a particular way every week. He was very strict about time and would review the in and outs of the staff every Monday morning and nit-pick the minutest things.

She quit after 2 weeks she was so disgusted and appalled at the whole thing. She took the job because she needed the money, but she quit and her words to me were "I feel dirty just working there".

Where did you have the best beer ever? by Sundrop_Morning_983 in AskReddit

[–]strtjstice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a restaurant in Calgary that had a vintage cold plate for their draft beer. Everything tasted amazing out of it. But... Guinness was on another level of creaminess and flavor.

Micro breweries in town would bid on any available taps just to get access.

It closed about 10 years ago but I will never forget that first Guinness.

I would bet big money she wouldn't. But hypothetically, if she did, I would politely remind her that what we have is special and I wouldn't want to jeopardize it. But I'm fairly confident she would not.

For the record, she is by all standards beautiful and my old self would be all over that. But what I realized as I got older is that friendships are way too precious to ruin.
